Dad wanted on capital murder charges in death of 17-month-old daughter turns himself in (Jackson, Mississippi)
Notice the vagueness which is typical in this kind of news article. The child was "with her father" when the "incident occurred." Does this mean she was killed in a custody/visitation situation? There is no way of knowing. This one reason why it is so hard to quantify the number of children harmed in custody/visitation situations.
Dad is identified as RICKY DAVIS.

JACKSON, Miss. - The dad wanted for capital murder in the death of his 17-month-old daughter is now in custody.
Police said 20-year-old Ricky Davis turned himself in.
The child, Ra'Kayla Silman, was rushed to the hospital Saturday to be treated for head trauma. During the preliminary investigation, police were told that the child had fallen and hurt herself.
The child was with her father, Davis, when the incident occurred, police said.
Medical doctors said Ra'Kayla's injures were not consistent with a fall and that it did not appear to be accidental.
Ra'Kayla died from her injures on Tuesday.
Davis is waiting for his court hearing.
