Dad murders 3-year-old son, 5-year-old daughter, their mother after she arrives to pick them up from visitation (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
Yet another follow up, this time from a story first posted in August. At that time this was still an UNNAMED DAD. Now we see that he was later identified as WILLIAM ROLANDO FUENTES GODINEZ.
Even though this POS gunned down and killed three innocent people, notice there is still a tendency to blame all these murders on "marital problems" or "issues between the man and the woman." This just deflects responsibility away from the killer, and blames the mother for the father's acts. And notice that the mother is blamed even though she tried to accommodate this POS with visitation.
This is why fathers with histories of domestic violence should be banned from contact with the kids. Mothers should not be put in harm's way because they are being pressured or required to "facilitate" the abuser's access to the kids. After a marital breakup, all these guys want to do is punish mom, and they know the most vicious thing they can do is destroy her children.

An estranged couple from Guatemala and their two small children were found dead in a murder-suicide in Tulsa early Tuesday after experiencing several months of marital problems, authorities said.
Police responded to a call at the Bradford Townhouses, 2190 S. 109th East Ave., around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after a tenant reported finding four bodies there with gunshot wounds.
“(Family members) were visiting the apartment residence, and one of the … residents came home and found them deceased,” Tulsa Police Department spokeswoman Demita Kinard said.
Guatemala’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Houston said in a statement Tuesday afternoon that William Rolando Fuentes Godinez, 35, fatally shot his wife, Maribel Jaqueline Ramirez Fuentes, 22, and then killed their 3-year-old son, Franklin Yosiel Fuentes Ramirez, and 5-year-old daughter, Caroline Michelle Fuentes Ramirez.
Police also found a 2-year-old girl unharmed in the home, and she has since been returned to her mother, they said.
The Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ statement says a family friend said Fuentes Godinez regularly threatened to kill his wife and children if she refused to let him return home. “The female victim had dropped off the children … at their father’s apartment earlier in the day,” Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker said in a release.
“The female victim returned in the evening hours and brought a 2-year-old child with her. This child was related to the female victim’s roommate and they were living at a separate location.”
Fuentes Godinez had two male roommates, neither of whom were home at the time the shootings occurred, Walker said.
Ramirez Fuentes and Fuentes Godinez were from San Pedro Sacatepequez, San Marcos, which is in Guatemala’s southwest corner, officials said. Their children were born in the United States, and Guatemalan authorities said a family friend reported that the couple separated two months ago.
ReeRee Elmore, a five-year resident of the apartment complex, said the family, like most others living there, kept to themselves.
“I just saw (Fuentes Godinez) when he would come outside smoking a cigarette,” she said. “He didn’t talk to anybody or bother anybody. … It’s just shocking to me because you just can’t picture somebody doing that.”
Shirley Bradley, who has lived at the complex for eight years, shared a building with the family. She said she heard a suspicious noise around 10:15 p.m. Monday coming from the area around Fuentes Godinez’s apartment but was still shocked to see multiple patrol cars in the area overnight.
“Our dog ran from the furthest point of that apartment to my door and would not come away from the corner, so I’m assuming that’s when something was going on,” Bradley said. “From what I understand, … she brought the kids over to visit and then she went to buy groceries, and when she came back … is when it all went down.” Bradley didn’t know the family personally but said she believes that the complex has seen an increase in crime during her time there. The violent deaths have prompted her to think about moving, she said.
“My heart goes out for those babies,” she said. “They did nothing wrong. No matter the issues between the man and the woman, the children were innocent.”
The Guatemalan Consulate will continue to assist the family’s survivors and Tulsa authorities during their investigation, officials there said.
“If necessary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will cover the costs of repatriation of remains, if it were the family’s desire,” the office’s statement, written in Spanish, says.
The deaths increase Tulsa’s homicide total for the year to 35 and Tulsa’s suicide total for the year to 58, police said.

Protective mom failed by police as abuser dad kills her, two daughters (New York, New York)
We've reported on killer dad MIGUEL MAJIA-RAMOS. Now we find out how the police failed the mother--not to mention the US's oppressive immigration policies that discourage women from reporting domestic violence.

A New York woman brutally stabbed to death last month along with her two young daughters had warned police months before that she feared for their safety, but her warning went unheeded - because it was in Spanish and never translated.
Deisy Garcia, an immigrant from Guatemala, filled out the state-mandated domestic-incident report in her native language after calling officers to her Jamaica apartment on May 30 to say her husband, Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 29, had assaulted her, according to police sources.
In the report, Garcia, 21, wrote that she was afraid Mejia-Ramos, 29, was going to kill her as well as their kids because she loved them so much.
She called 911 on Mejia-Ramos again on November 28 and filed a second report, although she didn’t repeat her concerns about being killed.
Neither report was translated into English by either the patrol officers or the Domestic Violence Unit, until after Garcia and her daughters - Daniela, 2, and Yoselin, 1 - were fatally stabbed on January 18, reports the New York Post.
The victim’s family have hit out at the NYPD over their lax approach to processing Deisy Garcia’s complaint.
‘My sister and her kids might still be alive if they had done their jobs,’ said Garcia’s brother José Garcia, 19. Husband Miguel Mejia-Ramos was captured at a vehicle roadblock in Schulenburg, Texas, as he was attempting to flee to Mexico
‘When someone comes to them with a problem but only speaks Spanish, find someone who speaks Spanish.’
‘I’m in so much pain,’ mom, Luzmina Alvarado told the Post.
‘I know she contacted them and told them he kicked her and abused her, but the police told her they needed to see proof of the abuse.
‘I told the cops, "Now that my daughter is dead, you’re hunting for this man like dogs, but if you did more earlier - if you had listened to my daughter - she might be alive today.'"
In the wake of the tragedy, NYPD has said it is carrying out a review of procedure and officers have been reminded that reports made in other languages must also be translated into English.
The NYPD is also considering using computer software to automatically translate the reports. Miguel Mejia-Ramos told New York City prosecutors that was rifling through his wife's phone and Facebook page on Sunday night and snapped when he saw an image of her with another man
Mejia-Ramos was placed on suicide watch after being arraigned late last month. Prosecutors say he told investigators he killed his children because he didn't have car seats to take them on the lam.
An illegal immigrant, he was arrested in Texas en route to Mexico after authorities tracked his cellphone.
Authorities say detectives recovered five knives with what appeared to be blood on them.
The suspect told police he tried to kill himself after slaying his family 'but couldn't do it.'
After his arrest, Miguel Mejia-Ramos told New York City prosecutors that was rifling through his wife's phone and Facebook page and snapped when he saw an image of her with another man.
He then grabbed a knife and stabbed 21-year-old Deisy Garcia, before hugging and kissing his two young daughters - two-year-old Daniela and one-year-old Yoselin - before brutally killing them too.
Mejia-Ramos faces first-degree murder charges.
The victims were found dead in their apartment after friends noticed they hadn't attended church.
Garcia's uncle stumbled upon the gruesome scene. All three had suffered multiple stab wounds and sources said that two bloody knives were left in the two rooms where the bodies were found.
A friend, Diana Villa, told the New York Post that Garcia had been petrified of Ramos and had even asked their local pastor for help - but that she was scared of calling police because she was an illegal immigrant from Guatemala.
Villa said she had witnessed a violent fight between the couple at a recent baby shower after Ramos blamed her for having no beer at the party, which was at the church.
Police officers had visited the residence for domestic violence complaints against Ramos last November and May, but he was not arrested on either occasion.
Garcia’s uncle Ramon Chuc, 37, recalled discovering the bodies with his two sons, ages 12 and 10, after they returned to the home after playing football outside.
'My 12-year-old son, Rene, went inside the room and saw my niece on the floor,' Chuc sobbed. 'After that, I... saw the two babies are covered with a blanket. I take it off and see them.'
All three were pronounced dead at the scene with stab wounds to the chest.
The apartment, which is above a drug store, was cordoned off by police.
‘She was a quiet but happy person. She always had a smile on her face. She was a good mom,’ Mario Sanchez, 16, told the Daily News.

Family of abusive dad arrested for cyberstalking murdered mom; mom killed while fighting for custody of kids (Wilmington, Delaware)
We've reported on this case many times over the years. All the way back when Daddy Dearest THOMAS MATUSIEWICZ kidnapped the kids, depriving them of contact with their mother, because JOINT CUSTODY wasn't good enough for him. Not enough abuse and control, doncha know.
A fathers rights lie you see a lot is that all the poor poor daddies wouldn't get all worked up if they just had "shared" custody. Bullsh**. You can't negotiate with terrorists, which is what these guys are. They want total complete control--and if pathological lying, slander, and human slaughter are deemed necessary to that end, they do it.
This case describes the abuser family pathology to the nth degree.

Edcouch family arrested for cyber-stalking murdered in-law
by Cristina Garcia
Posted: 08.11.2013 at 9:33 PM
After loading up their family car with weapons, binoculars, restraints, an electric shock device, gas cans and a shovel, the Matusiewicz family allegedly all conspired to kill a Delaware woman who had married into their family
The recently unsealed federal indictment gives harrowing details about the family’s cyber-stalking and alleged conspiracy to kill their former in-law Christine Belford.
The murderous plan was put into motion when Thomas Matusiewicz drove from Edcouch to a Delaware courthouse where he shot and killed Belford, his son David’s ex-wife, just before she walked into the courtroom to fight for custody of her children.
Matusiewicz’s wife, Lenore Matusiewicz, his son, David Matusiewicz, and his daughter Amy Gonzalez had all denied any prior knowledge that the murder was going to take place.
But late last week, a federal grand jury in Delaware has indicted Lenore, David and Amy on four charges including cyber stalking, interstate stalking and conspiracy.
Federal agents arrested Lenore Matusiewicz and Amy Gonzalez in Hidalgo County late last week.
They are facing extradition to Delaware but the now-unsealed federal indictment gives harrowing details about the family’s conspiracy to kill David Matusiewicz’s ex-wife.
MOTIVE
Thomas Matusiewicz, shot his daughter in-law multiple times in the chest, killing her and one of her friend's in the lobby of a courthouse back in Delaware back in February.
Optometrist David Matusiewicz allegedly wanted custody of his children, who resided with their mother in Wilminton, Del.
The Matusiewicz family spent years stalking Belford before she was murdered, according to court documents.
MARRIAGE HISTORY
David Matusiewicz and Christine Belford were married for five years and had three children.
During the their divorce they fought for custody of the three girls.
Belford and David Matusiewicz were given joint custody of the three girls, which is when David Matusiewicz and his mother, Lenore Matusiewicz kidnapped the girls and fled the U.S.
Two years after the kidnapping, U.S. federal law enforcement agents located Lenore Matusiewicz and the three girls in Nicaragua.
The children were then reunited with their mother and lived with her in Delaware, about 1,500 miles from the Rio Grande Valley.
David Matusiewicz and his mother were imprisoned for their part in the kidnapping.
In 2011, David Matusiewicz’s parental rights were terminated even though he accused his ex-wife of sexually abusing the children.
FAMILY CONSPIRACY
David Matusiewicz spent a few years in prison.
He was then released to a halfway house and was under the supervision of a South Texas parole officer.
But according to the new federal indictment, he conspired with his family with the intent to kill his ex-wife, once released.
The family waged a campaign to ruin Christine’s reputation using social media, websites and YouTube, according to court documents.
The Matusiewicz family allegedly recruited people to stalk Belford and watch the children.
Some of the recruits allegedly provided license plate numbers and took photos of Belford’s home.
FALSE WEBSITE
Their mother Lenore Matusiewicz began publishing a webpage entitled, “A grandmother’s impossible choice and a father’s willingness to risk everything in order to rescue his three little girls.”
On the webpage were false claims about Belford including allegations of parental neglect and sexual abuse made by David Matusiewicz, according to the indictment.
Lenore Matusiewicz alleged that Belford wanted her son for his money.
The family then attempted to locate Barbra Walters and contact CNN in efforts to get a story out about their struggle for custody of the children.
The family then allegedly uploaded videos to YouTube entitles “Don’t Hurt Me Mommy” and “Another Unresolved Delaware Child Abuse Case.”
This was an attempt for word to be spread about the “true history” of the case, according to court documents.
SMEAR CAMPAIGN
The family then wrote to Belford’s church claiming she was sexually molesting her children, according to court documents.
The family recruited people to send photos of the children from Belford’s Facebook profile via email, according to the documents.
The Matusiewicz family obtained the real-estate listing including photos of inside her home and the children’s bedrooms of Belford’s home.
David Matusiewicz allegedly sent an email claiming he was the “First doc in the family and the first felon” and he was looking forward to his next battle in efforts to get his “daughters from their abusive mother.”
A woman then helped David Matusiewicz gain access to Belford’s personal Facebook profile and had multiple people checking out her house.
David Matusiewicz then left a note to his daughter Amy.
On the note, “Hopefully we can end this BS now-up to Dave,” was written, according to the indictment.
MURDER
In an email, David Matusiewicz and his mother said Belford was “scum and will always be…,” according to court documents.
Before David Matusiewicz left the Edcouch home, Amy was left with veteran funeral arrangements and a booklet on federal benefits for veterans.
A letter was allegedly left behind for Amy Gonzalez that said, “All my guns take them/protect them… they will be your only freedom in the coming years under what was once my gov’t. When gov’t takes your grandchildren away it ceases then being your gov’t.”
The Matusiewicz family then allegedly loaded up Honda CRV and a Honda Civic with photographs of Christine’s Belford’s children and residence, ammunition, a military style knife, a bullet proof vest and other items.
Before the murder, the Matusiewicz family visited family in New Jersey, according to court documents.
The next day, David Matusiewicz parked the Honda CRV in a parking garage of a hotel in downtown Wilmington.
David Matusiewicz’s and his father then entered the lobby where they stood in line for security screening, according to the documents.
Christine Belford and her friend entered the courthouse’s outer lobby.
Belford was then allegedly shot and killed.
Belford’s once sister-in-law made a request for custody of the three girls and sent a check to family court dated two days after the murder.
EXTRADITION
Federal agents arrested Lenore Matusiewicz and Amy Gonzalez in Hidalgo County late last week.
Their case has been assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Peter E. Ormsby in McAllen.
The two Edcouch women now face extradition to Delware where a federal jury will decide their fate.
A fathers rights lie you see a lot is that all the poor poor daddies wouldn't get all worked up if they just had "shared" custody. Bullsh**. You can't negotiate with terrorists, which is what these guys are.

Dad pleads not guilty to impregnating daughter
February 14, 2013, 05:00 AM
Daily Journal Staff Report
A Guatemalan man who prosecutors say impregnated his 12-year-old daughter five years ago and fled the country when Redwood City police contacted by abortion providers asked him for a DNA sample pleaded not guilty yesterday to several felonies.
The 39-year-old man, who the Daily Journal is not naming as not to identify his daughter, is charged with several counts each of lewd acts on a child under 14 and incest. He will stand trial May 28.
Police interviewed him about his daughter's pregnancy in December 2007 after he brought the girl to San Mateo Medical Center for an abortion. Hospital staff contacted authorities who were told by both him and the girl that a fellow 12-year-old named "Giovanni" was the father. When police asked for a genetic sample to test, the father said he wanted time to consider the request and the next day fled back to Guatemala, according to prosecutors.
The girl later told police her father had impregnated her and she had made up the story of the boy to protect him and not upset her mother. Redwood City police ultimately found the father in Guatemala and had him deported back in late 2012.
He remains in custody on $1 million bail. He returns to court May 7 for a pretrial conference.

Single "caretaker" dad charged in death of 2-year-old son (Houston, Texas)
This is what happens when we strip mothers of their children as a matter of deliberate public policy. Single "caretaker" dad OSMAN IRIAS has been charged in the violent abuse death of his 2-year-old son.

Dad charged in connection with toddler's death
Updated at 12:39 PM today
Osman Irias, 21, has been charged with injury to a child in connection with the death of his toddler son
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 21-year-old father is charged with injury to a child in connection with the death of his two-year-old son.
Osman Irias told police that he was home alone with his two children -- the two-year-old victim and his four-year-old sister. Court documents state that Irias left the children to take a shower, and when he returned, he reportedly found the boy convulsing on the floor.
Irias told police he's the only caregiver for the children, and that the boy's mother was deported and has been in Guatemala for the last year. Irias added that the boy has suffered previous injuries from falling, but he didn't take him to a doctor for fear CPS would become involved.
An autopsy showed the toddler had more than 86 bruises, fractured ribs and contusions. The doctor who performed the autopsy told police the injuries were consistent with child abuse, and would not result from a fall.
According to court documents, Irias, 21, is accused of kicking the boy, and hitting him with his hand and another object. Irias is charged with injury to a child. Bail has been set at $500,000.

New documentary tackles flawed family court system (Boston, Massachusetts)

New Documentary by BU Professor Tackles Flawed Family Court System
By Lauren Michael | Dec 5th, 2011
In 1992, Holly Collins went to a Minnesota family court intending to secure full custody of her two children, Zackary and Jennifer. She had believed that if she told the truth–that her ex-husband had repeatedly abused her and their children–everything would be okay. But her evidence of abuse, including several medical records and the children’s statements that they always feared visiting their dad, were repeatedly rejected by the court. Her husband claimed she was lying and trying to alienate their children from him. Then, like thousands of battered women each year, Holly lost full custody of her children to their abusive father.
After two years with limited supervised visitation, in which the children weren’t permitted to discuss the ongoing abuse, Holly decided to do something. One day, she asked her kids to meet her at a video store near their dad’s house. They got into a car and started driving. They tried going to Canada, Mexico and Guatemala. Knowing the FBI was searching for them because Holly had in fact kidnapped her kids, she decided to try escaping to Australia or New Zealand. They managed to sneak through airport security without passports and got onto a flight to Amsterdam. There, they were detained and sent to a refugee camp. Years later upon finding a lawyer willing to take her case, Holly became the first U.S. citizen to be granted asylum by the Netherlands on the grounds of domestic violence.
For COM Professor Garland Waller, Holly Collins’ story was the perfect outlet for her to make a documentary on the shortcomings of the American family court system. “My first documentary was about three women who all lost custody of their kids to men who had battered them and sexually abused them,” she said to me when I interviewed her last Thursday. The documentary was never aired for the public, however, because people considered it way too controversial.
“I thought, I know this is an issue that is going on in the family courts, every single day,” Professor Waller explicated. “How can we do a story on this issue of domestic violence and child abuse that people will want to see; that will have a story that has a beginning, middle, and end; that has a hero; and that doesn’t make them feel suicidal at the end?” That’s why she decided to center her film around Holly’s story. ”Holly is one of the few women who has been able to save her children from years of being abused,” she affirmed.
On December 2 at 7pm in COM 101, Professor Waller and her production team screened the film No Way Out But One for a packed lecture hall of students and faculty. The hour-and-a-half long documentary, which was followed by a Q;A session, follows Holly’s story and also outlines the grievous problems 0f the American family court system. Made for under $40,000, the not-for-profit film was a way for Professor Waller and her husband Barry Nolan (who also produced and narrated the film) to make a difference.
“This is what I do to give back,” she explained. “Some people work for charity, some people give to the United Way, but this is what I do.”
As the documentary cites, each year 58,000 children are placed in contact with an abuse parent after divorce, and batterers win custody in 70% of family court cases where abuse is involved.
Professor Waller also cited the lingering gender bias in the family courts. “Courts do not have to consider domestic violence in their rulings, ” she said. “Now that is anti-woman, because it’s usually the women who get beaten up.” Money, she says, is also involved. “The men who want custody are the ones who can afford to have the kids, and you have to be able to pay the court costs,” she explained. “This is something that doesn’t happen in poor families…it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay all these people.” If the father is paying for the court evaluator, she says, often they’ll skew the evidence in his favor.
But even in ugly divorces, she says, usually the parents still want to do what’s best for their children. “When there are cases that involve domestic violence and child abuse, that is not the case,” she explained. “Women often get custody when there’s not domestic violence. But oddly, a batterer is more likely to go after custody than a non-batterer. So its a very complicated issue.”
Since the release of No Way Out But One, Professor Waller and her husband deal with angry father’s rights groups every day. These groups, like Fathers and Families, make an impassioned–if not entirely factual–argument for why they believe the Holly Collins case is a hoax. “After a nice review in a Boston Magazine blog, many pro-father’s rights men were highly critical,” she explained, but “none of them had seen the film and none of them had access to all the thousands of pages of legal documents and medical records and correspondence from experts and FBI documents that we had.” Many of these documents are shown and quoted in the film.
In their writings against Holly Collins, father’s rights groups cite Parental Alienation Syndrome, which means that a mother is trying to alienate her children from their father. Though it is not accepted as a legitimate diagnosis by the American Medical Association or the American Psychological Association (the psychologist who first wrote about PAS had conducted no actual studies), in family court it is often used to legitimize giving custody to an abusive parent.
As Nolan puts it, “these are people who do not and will not respond to evidence, or facts, or medical records, or court transcripts, or expert testimony if it does not fit their preconceived notions.” The groups say that Holly fabricated the evidence of her husband’s abuse, but in reality false allegations of abuse are very rare.
“Holly may not be perfect, but she was clearly a battered woman who only wanted to protect her children from abuse,” Professor Waller affirmed.
Still, this is an issue that has mainly been ignored by the mainstream media. “The mainstream media is terrified of getting sued, and this is a subject where everybody sues everyone all the time,” she explained. “It’s all he said/she said…so the mainstream media says, this is a mess and we’re not going to get into it. Just as the mainstream media did not cover pedophile priests abusing children, just as for years they did not cover the things that were going on at Penn State, it is the same thing only worse by thousands in terms of the children who are being abused.”
Many years after their mother kidnapped them, the Collins kids, now adults, are healthy and grateful for everything their mother has done for them. Jennifer Collins, Holly’s oldest daughter, is the executive director of Courageous Kids, an organization for young adults who suffered from court injustice as children to speak out and share their stories.
“I guess for me, the most important thing is that I would like people to realize that this is a national issue that is not going away until people begin to understand that in a family court, if you beat your wife and abuse your child, and go after custody, most of the time you will get it,” Professor Waller concluded. “I want to live in an America that protects the children.”

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. --
A Manassas-area man was sentenced Thursday to serve 20 years in prison for the death of his 3-month-old son.
At a trial in July in Prince William Circuit Court, substitute Judge Gaylord Finch found 26-year-old Henry Morales guilty of felony murder for the death of his infant son, Dominic.
Thursday Finch sentenced Morales to 40 years in prison, with 20 of those years suspended, followed by three years of probation.
According to court documents, Morales told police that he was walking down the steps at his house in the 10800 block of Daisy Court on Oct. 17, 2010, carrying Dominic, when he tripped and fell down the stairs, dropping the baby and landing on top of him.
Morales told police that then called his wife, who told him to call 911.
Dominic was taken to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries several weeks later.
Investigators said that Dominic’s injuries did not appear to be accidental and Morales was charged in the death.
During the trial, Dr. William Hauda, a child abuse expert, testified that Dominic had several new and old injuries, including old rib fractures and head injuries, which Hauda said did not appear to be accidental and demonstrated a pattern of child abuse.
Morales has maintained that he did not injure the baby intentionally.
At Thursday’s sentencing hearing, friends and relatives testified that Morales was a good father who loved Dominic and his other, older son.
“I know what the evidence is, but I know Henry,” Morales’ friend, Ronny Castro testified.
Defense attorney Anne Godson asked the judge to consider a lower sentence.
“The loss of a child alone is a life sentence,” she said.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney James Willett asked the judge to sentence Morales to 40 years in prison, the maximum punishment for felony murder.
“If this case doesn’t call for the maximum, it’s hard to think of one that does,” Willett said.
Willett also asked the judge to consider Dominic when imposing the sentence.
“Dominic lived for ninety days,” Willett said. “His life was snuffed out before it had a chance to bloom.”
The judge said Morales’ case was a difficult one, but he found the doctor’s testimony more credible than Morales’ testimony.
“With the history of injuries, it didn’t happen just once,” Jackson said. “It was not an accident.”
Morales also testified during the hearing, saying he was sorry for what happened.
“I wish I could change my life so he could be alive and I could be dead for him,” Morales said.
Morales maintained that he told the truth when he told investigators what happened.
“I give everything to God because he knows the truth,” Morales said.
Morales, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, is also being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.

MANASSAS, Va. --
After a judge postponed the trial of a man charged in the death of his 3-month-old son Tuesday because a witness did not appear, the witness arrived at the courthouse and the trial went on, court records show.
On Wednesday, a judge found Henry L. Morales, 26, guilty of felony murder in the death of his infant son, Dominic.
Morales was first charged with felony child abuse and aggravated malicious wounding after police responded to his house in the 10800 block of Daisy Court on Oct. 17 for reports of a baby not breathing.
He was later charged with felony murder, after the baby died of his injuries a few weeks later.
According to court documents, Morales told police that he tripped while carrying the baby down the steps and dropped him.
Morales was set to stand trial Tuesday, but after a witness, a former medical examiner, did not appear, a judge agreed to continue the trial to a later date and release Morales on his personal recognizance.
But, a few minutes later, the witness arrived, and the trial began.
Morales faces up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced on Aug. 25.
Morales, a citizen of Guatemala, is also being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer

"Estranged" wife of stabbing suspect hints at incest; he was custodial dad who took daughter from mom in Guatemala (LeHigh, Florida)
We've posted on Dad MANUEL ROSALES before, who is charged with the stabbing of his adult daughter and her infant son. The baby subsequently died, and last I heard, the daughter was in critical condition. My first impression was that there was something icky and incestuous here. Now Dad's estranged wife, the daughter's stepmother, has more or less confirmed my suspicions.
We also find out that Rosales is a custodial father.
So where is the mother? Apparently poor and penniless back in Guatemala. Seems Daddy had "tried for years" to bring the girl to the U.S. from Guatemala (Dad became a U.S. citizen around 1996). He finally succeeded when the girl was 15. I've posted at least 4 similar cases where fathers took advantage of poor moms in impoverished countries, only to abuse or kill their children once they were in the U.S. or Canada.

Wife of Lehigh Acres stabbing suspect hints at incest

Manuel Rosales shadowed every move made by his daughter, Karminda Rosales Salazar.
"He wanted to know at all times where she was, what she was doing," said Madeline Rosales, Manuel Rosales' estranged wife.
Her husband and stepdaughter were affectionate toward each other, hugging and kissing and holding hands. Manuel Rosales treated Karminda the way a husband would treat his wife, Madeline Rosales said.
Manuel Rosales' behavior led his wife to suspect her husband was the father of Karminda's older son, 1 1/2-year-old Brian Rosales. She doesn't believe he fathered Josue, the 3-month-old boy Manuel Rosales is accused of killing May 20.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office hinted at the possibility of incest when it reported that Manuel Rosales stabbed his daughter, although it would not confirm Wednesday it was investigating that angle.
Manuel Rosales' affection was known to turn to rage, Madeline Rosales said, and frequently, 20-year-old Karminda was the target. In the last confrontation, reports show, he slit Karminda's throat three times before he forced her to watch him slash her youngest child's throat, telling her: "Here's your bastard."
Baby Josue died hours later. Karminda was taken to Lehigh Regional Medical Center, but no recent information about her condition or whereabouts has been released.
Manuel Rosales, 43, was holding the older baby, Brian, in his arms when emergency crews arrived at his Lehigh Acres home. He is being held in the Lee County Jail without bond, facing one count each of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
Manuel Rosales will be represented by a public defender who has not yet been assigned to the case. An arraignment is scheduled for June 21.
Although Madeline Rosales, 45, said her husband is violent, she never believed he was capable of killing. She hasn't been in contact with him since November, when she moved to Miami. She plans to file for divorce.
"Since I found out, I don't sleep at night," she said. "I can't believe what he has done."
Manuel Rosales tried for years to bring his daughter to the United States from her native Guatemala. He succeeded in 2005 when Karminda was 15, Madeline Rosales said.
A native of Honduras, he had moved to Guatemala at age 18. There, he met a woman who gave birth to Karminda.
Manuel Rosales met Madeline in Miami after he moved to the U.S., and they were married in 1996. He became a U.S. resident shortly thereafter, Madeline Rosales said.
After her stepdaughter came to live with them, Madeline Rosales said, her husband would go into Karminda's room often, where he would talk with the girl for hours.
"She would come and lay next to him and lay on top of him," Madeline Rosales said. "I wouldn't think of anything bad because that's his daughter."
While Madeline Rosales doesn't believe her husband fathered Josue, she isn't sure who the father is. She remembers Karminda talking with a boy around the time Madeline Rosales moved to Miami, but she doesn't know his name.
Incest underreported
Incest is far too common an occurrence, and local abuse shelters see a number of women impregnated by their fathers, said Christine Kobie, a community educator at Abuse Counseling and Treatment.
Sexual abuse is about power and control, Kobie said.
"It's not about sex," she said. "It's an abusive person using sex as a weapon."
Incest is greatly underreported, Kobie said, because victims grow up believing their situation is normal.
As they get older, Kobie said, they usually begin to understand that the relationship is abnormal.
But by then, the teenage victims don't want to report the crime because they fear being taken away from their homes.
Although Manuel Rosales hasn't been formally accused of being sexually abusive, Madeline Rosales said he has a temper that often flares.
"He was a very abusive man, verbally and physically," she said. "He was just very aggressive. It had to be his way only, and if not, just forget it."
In 2008, Manuel Rosales was arrested and charged with beating Karminda, who took out a protective order against him. This past November, she fled to Philadelphia, but he convinced her to return, promising to change.
He used the same excuse with his wife.
"He tells my sister that all the time," said Maite Pinon, Madeline Rosales' sister. "That's how he gets them back."
Madeline Rosales said her husband beat her as well. Once, she said, he came after her with a machete, repeatedly beating her with its blunt end.
Despite his violent history, Madeline Rosales can't imagine what might have compelled him to slash the throats of Karminda and her infant son, as he's accused of doing.
"It's something crazy," she said. "I don't know what could have gotten into his head. I really don't know."
We also find out that Rosales is a custodial father.

Indictment: Fugitive dad stabbed child's mother dead; abandoned 3-year-old son (Trenton, New Jersey)
Dad JOSE DELGADO-FEBRES (aka MICHAEL MARTINEZ) has been indicted in the stabbing death of his girlfriend, the mother of their 3-year-old son. The murder took place while the 3-year and the mother's teenage son were in the home. Shortly after the murder, dad disappeared, effectively abandoning the 3-year-old. Not that anybody would accuse him of being a good dad or anything.

TRENTON — At-large murder suspect Jose Delgado-Febres has been indicted in absentia on charges he killed his girlfriend at their Trenton home while their children were inside the Beatty Street apartment nine months ago, authorities said yesterday.
The 36-year old fugitive is accused of ramming a blade into 27-year-old Yerika Hernandez’s back during an early morning argument on April 28, 2009.
Delgado-Febres, a Guatemalan also known as Michael Martinez, has been on the lam since the incident. When cops arrived at the crime scene at 1:20 a.m., they found the mother of two lying in a pool of blood.
Delgado-Febres is the biological father of Hernandez’s youngest son, who was 3 years old when his mom was taken from him. The fugitive also was the stepdad of Hernandez’s teenage son, who called the cops after witnessing his mom fall prey to the alleged domestic violence.
Medics rushed Hernandez to Capital Health-Fuld hospital, but she was soon pronounced dead from the deep puncture wound.
Hernandez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, but she had been living in Trenton for several years prior to her death. Hernandez enjoyed cooking Spanish meals for her loving family and dancing, according to her obituary. She was buried in her native country.
Cops issued arrest warrants for Delgado-Febres on the day of the murder, but the fugitive never answered his charges. The cold-hearted father abandoned his son and didn’t attend his girlfriend’s funeral. The INTERPOL international police force is reportedly hunting for the suspect in addition to U.S. law-enforcement agencies.
Yesterday, Mercer County Prosecutor Joe Bocchini said a county grand jury slapped Delgado-Febres with an indictment on counts of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. Those charges were handed up last week.
If you know where Delgado-Febres is hiding, call the Trenton police confidential tip line at (609) 989-3663.

ALOHA, Ore. - A 32-year-old Beaverton man who had been charged with murder in the death of his baby daughter pleaded guilty Tuesday to manslaughter charges in a plea agreement resulting in a 20-year prison sentence.
Eber Gramajo insists he did not kill the girl last May. Prosecutors said he was caring for the baby when it suffered a head injury and later died.
Gramajo is in the United States illegally and will be deported to Guatemala after serving his sentence.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Legacy Emanuel Hospital last May to investigate a baby that was possibly injured by abuse.
The girl, Maya Gramajo, suffered a closed-head injury and was kept on life support while doctors tried to save her, the sheriff's office said.
One other child, a 16-month-old son, was also at home with the father when the injuries occurred but he was not hurt and was placed with relatives, the sheriff's office said.
The children's mother was not at home during the incident and is not facing any charges. She has said she does not believe Gramajo fatally injured her daughter.
