OCALA, Fla. (AP) — A 22-year-old man who poured bleach into his daughter's formula has been sentenced to two years in prison.
Carron Washington pleaded no contest to a charge of cruelty to a child for the February 2013 incident. He accepted a plea deal from the State Attorney's Office with a credit for 134 days served.
The Ocala Star-Banner (http://bit.ly/1Ba8BCk ) reports Washington said he was trying a home remedy to help her breath better. He says he poured less than a capful into two ounces of formula.
Officials say Therese Roberts awoke to 2-month-old Cadlynn's cries and found Washington feeding her a bottle. She took the girl and patted her back. When the baby vomited, she smelled bleach. Police became involved when hospital officials contacted them about the suspicious condition of the baby.
