An Albany man is facing a number charges after police say he ran from officers with his infant child in the car following a domestic dispute Friday night.

Police say they were called to the 200 block of South Allen Street just after 9:00pm for reports of a man with a gun. When they arrived, police say the mother of the child told them that the father, 55-year-old Gary Parker, left in a car with both a handgun and the child.

Officers say they were able to locate Parker quickly when they spotted his vehicle on Bertha Street. Parker refused to stop and led police on a brief chase that ended on the 200 block of South Allen Street, according to police.

Police say Parker made several comments that created concern for the well-being of the child. Parker was arrested and charged with menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing and resisting arrest. He was arraigned Saturday morning in Albany City Court.
