Dad accused of killing 2-year-old daughter also accused of assaulting her mother (Floyd, Virginia)
For the life of me, I have never been able to figure out why judges, social workers, and others of that ilk think that a dad who beats up his partner is safe around the kids or vice versa. Violent people are violent people. Dad EDER RODRIQUEZ-GUZMAN was previously charged with killing his 2-year-old daughter. Now we find out that he "allegedly" assaulted the mother that same night. Can't say I'm surprised in the slightest.

FLOYD, Va.—
There are new details in the case of a Floyd County man accused of killing his own 2 year old daughter.
Eder Rodriguez-Guzman appeared in juvenile and domestic relations court Friday morning.
He's charged with capital murder and assault and battery.
It was revealed in court that he's accused of assaulting his wife Carmen Nolazco last Wednesday, the same night deputies were called to his home to find his daughter dead.
Investigators won't say how the toddler was killed.
They're waiting for the autopsy report.
Rodriguez-Guzman was appointed a defense attorney on Friday and remains in jail without bond.
He appeared distraught in the courtroom and slammed his hand down on the podium as the judge read the charge of murder.
