More charges filed against custodial dad, girlfriend in murder of 4-year-old child (McNairy County, Tennessee)

We've been following this case for a while, and there is still NO WORD on why dad ANTHONY DILWORTH had custody, who gave it to him, or what happened to the mother. Why the silence?

Additional charges filed in Adamsville child's death

By David Thomas, 4:39 p.m. CDT August 4, 2014

SELMER -- Additional charges have been filed against a McNairy County couple after a 4-year-old child died from injuries as the result of abuse, officials announced today.

McNairy County Sheriff Guy Buck and District Attorney General Michael Dunavant announced at a news conference this afternoon that Kyrie Marie Kyle faces additional charges including first-degree felony murder after the child died over the weekend. Kyle, who is the girlfriend of the boy's father, also faces charges of aggravated child abuse, aggravated assault and aggravated child neglect or endangerment.

Authorities said Kyle, 26, is accused of pushing the child, causing him to hit his head. Kyle told investigators the head injury happened when the child had a seizure.

The child's father, Anthony Dilworth, 39, was not at home at the time of the incident, but authorities say there is evidence of prior injuries to the child that indicate ongoing abuse. Dilworth is charged with child abuse and child neglect or endangerment.

Kyle is being held on $1 million bond, and Dilworth on $500,000 bond.

The child was initially on life support after suffering the head injury at a home on Myrtle Road in Adamsville on Thursday, authorities have said. He died on Saturday evening.

A 3-year-old girl was removed from the home and placed in the care of relatives. Buck said the girl was not injured.
