From staff reports
A Pensacola man was arrested Friday on charges of abusing his 4-month-old son.
Steven Allen Tutwiler, 20, was charged with three felony counts of aggravated child abuse. He is in Escambia County Jail without bond.
The Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Sacred Heart Hospital medical staff about the suspected abuse.
Investigators were told on April 28 that the infant was suffering from a traumatic brain injury that required emergency surgery and had other injuries not believed to be accidental.
Investigators determined the infant received the brain injury after being thrown to the floor.
Tutwiler told investigators he was sitting on the floor holding the infant and became frustrated and angry with the baby for crying. He said he pushed the infant backward causing the boy to hit his head.
