A Findlay man will spend the next 14 years in prison after the death of his baby in 2013.
Jerrod Hartman, 26, was sentenced to 14 years behind bars on Monday for killing his 6 week old baby, James. He pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Hancock County Common Pleas Court. Hartman is said to have fallen asleep on the couch with the baby in October of 2013. Hartman claimed he had a sleep disorder that gave him night terrors and he didn't recall the incident the day the baby died.
He was sentenced to 8 years for the involuntary manslaughter charge, and 6 years for the child endangering charge. The baby suffered injuries to his head, chest and abdomen and a laceration to his liver.
