Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A man charged in connection with the death of his child due to carbon monoxide poisoning is facing new accusations that he tampered with a witness.

38-year-old Glenn Collins of North Edwards Avenue in Syracuse was arrested last year on second-degree manslaughter charges after his 6-year-old daughter died in August 2014.

Collins allegedly left a gas generator running overnight inside a home in Salina, where his children slept while he visited Turning Stone Casino.

In addition to his daughter’s death, carbon monoxide poisoning was blamed for the serious illness of his 14-year-old son.

Since then, Collins has been charged with two counts of grand larceny and scheme to defraud after he allegedly collected security deposits from potential tenants for the house after the child’s death.

In each case, Collins was able to post bail.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has now arrested him on a charge of fourth-degree tampering with a witness.

He was arraigned in Syracuse City Court on Tuesday morning. He has since returned to the Justice Center in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or bond.
