A 2-month-old child is dead, and the baby's father is in jail, accused of neglect of a dependent causing serious bodily injury.

Indiana State Police were notified June 5 that a White County infant was being treated at St. Elizabeth East Hospital for life-threatening injuries suffered while with the baby's father — Conor Ty Jackson, 22, of Chalmers.

The baby was injured around 1 p.m. June 5 and was taken to Monticello's hospital. Later that day, the baby was transferred to St. Elizabeth East. The child was then transferred to Riley's Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. The child died around 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to state police.

An autopsy performed Wednesday indicated the baby suffered a closed-head, blunt force traumatic injury.

State police arrested Jackson on Saturday. He is incarcerated at the White County Jail, according to state police.
