Dad indicted on 1st-degree murder charges for death of 6-week-old daughter (Ocala, Florida)
Dad JEREMY J. MURRAY would like us to believe he's just a clumsy oaf. Unfortunately, he can't settle for just one cover story.
What happened to the mother of this newborn? No mention of the woman who gave birth to this child at all. Was this a case of a worthless "stay-at-home" father? Did he have custody? What?

A grand jury on Tuesday indicted the father accused of killing his 6-week-old daughter on murder and child abuse charges, according to the State Attorney's Office.
Jeremy J. Murray, 29, is now charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse in connection with the death of his daughter, Ember.
Murray gave authorities varying versions of what happened to the child. At first he said he was carrying the child to a bassinet, tripped over a weight bench, and crashed into the bassinet. The infant then flew out of his arms, according to reports.
He later told authorities that he was carrying the child on his right shoulder when he tripped, fell into a wall and then into the bassinet.
After the accident, Murray told authorities he waited to call 911 because he was trying to figure out what had happened to his daughter. Upon arrival at the house, detectives took pictures of the infant, who had bruising on her forehead.
The child was taken to two hospitals and was later taken off life support.
A medical examiner's report said the child suffered from multiple skull fractures that were not consistent with either of Murray's explanations. There was also evidence of past bruising.
Murray is still being held without bail at the Marion County Jail. His next scheduled court date, an arraignment, is March 19.
