Dad charged with seriously injuring 6-month-old baby (Balch Springs, Texas)
Notice that there is mention of other "adults at the house" and other "family members," but no specific mention of a mother. Why? Wasn't there one?
Dad is identified as GREGORY GUAJARDO.

BALCH SPRINGS (CBSDFW.COM) – It began when a North Texas hospital contacted police about a seriously injured six-month old child. Early this morning it ended with the arrest of the child’s father.
Medical workers called police in Balch Springs on March 11. They reported that family members had driven an unresponsive baby to a hospital in Mesquite and that the child’s injuries were so severe that he was flown to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
As the child was treated for a head injuries, Balch Springs officials began looking into the incident. After several interviews and searching a house in the 11000 block of Seagoville Road authorities felt they had enough probable cause to make an arrest. Balch Springs Police Department Deputy Chief Jonathan Haber explained, “After speaking with a doctor, and CPS (Child Protective Services) and stuff we believe we had enough information and enough probable cause to go ahead and formally charge Mr. Guajardo.”
Haber said this isn’t he first time CPS had been contacted about adults at the house. “I do know they had been out to the residence or dealt with those parents in the past.”
As for the baby Haber said, “He is hospitalized. As far as I know, the last that I have, he is in serious condition. They’re [doctors] waiting to run some additional tests.”
The child’s father, Gregory Guajardo, has been arrested and charged with Injury to a Child/Serious Bodily Injury. Guajardo is being held in the Collin County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
