Dad charged with abusing 1-year-old daughter (Houston, Texas)

Dad JEFFERY CASTANO was supposed to be watching the 1-year-old baby while Mom went to the hospital. She had only been gone an hour and a half when Daddy flipped out on the baby (see injuries listed below). Plus, she had healing fractures, which suggest that Daddy had flipped out on her before. And she tested positive for marijuana too???

Also seems Daddy has an authority problem. At least that's why he says he abandoned the baby before the ambulance arrived.

What a POS....

HOUSTON – A 23-year-old father is facing charges after his 1-year-old daughter suffered multiple fractures and tested positive for marijuana.

Jeffery Castano is charged with injury to a child.

According to court documents, his daughter was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital on November 13, 2011, with multiple bruises, lacerations to her liver, head trauma and fractures to her clavicle, wrist and elbow.

Doctors said the little girl tested positive for pot and had several old, healing fractures.

A CPS caseworker who interviewed Castano told investigators that the suspect was babysitting the little girl prior to her trip to the hospital.

Castano reportedly told the caseworker that his girlfriend, who is the mother of the little girl and pregnant with Castano’s unborn child, had called him that day asking him to look after the victim.

Castano said his girlfriend was only gone for an hour and a half, and that the baby was asleep the whole time.

The caseworker said Castano also denied smoking pot or harming the baby. He said he left the scene before the ambulance arrived that day because he did not like cops or government officials.

Charges were filed against Castano on November 30, 2011.
