Yet another one of those cases you never heard anything about--unless you happened to live in Wisconsin or read Dastardly Dads. Needless to say, had a MOTHER DRUGGED HER FOUR CHILDREN IN AN ATTEMPTED QUADRUPLE HOMICIDE, Nancy Grace would be yakking about it non-stop. But given that it's "just a dad," the national media just yawns. So the crimes of fathers like DEKE K. SURI are effectively ignored.
Another important thing to notice here, something that is not highlighted in the slightest. The mother of these children had just left this whack-job idiot (she is described as "estranged"). Although the media plays this crime as related to Daddy's grief, this isn't about grief. It's about abuse.
1) It's about punishing the wife. Notice how he gave the mom telephone advance notice of his plans to kill these kids? That's meant to HURT MOM. This was an attempted revenge killing. Classic abuser move.
2) And notice how he claims he drugged these kids so they wouldn't "suffer the loss of their father?" That is pure abuser narcissism. Daddy is just such a preshus snowflake that these kids couldn't get along without him? This is fathers rights movement daddy drama "it's all about me!!!" in action.
Another thing. If Daddy hadn't been provided with access, if mothers were allowed to leave the marital home with their children with no visitation rights for the father unless mom agrees that dad is safe, then these kids wouldn't have been put in harm's way, would they?
And after all this, preshus daddy gets a special plea deal. Of course....

APPLETON — An Oneida man who had been accused of attempted homicide in connection to the December drugging of his four children is expected to plead guilty or no contest to lesser charges.
Attorneys reached a plea agreement in the Outagamie County case against Deke K. Suri, who had been charged with four counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Prosecutors on Wednesday replaced those charges with four counts of child abuse and four counts of delivery of a prescription drug.
A jury trial on the attempted homicide charges had been scheduled to begin Monday. Instead, a plea hearing will be held Wednesday morning.
Deputy District Attorney Melinda Tempelis said the plea agreement calls for Suri to plead on all eight charges. She declined to comment on sentencing recommendations.
Police were called to check on Suri and the children on Dec. 21 after he told his estranged wife in a phone conversation that he planned to poison the children, the criminal complaint says.
After giving the children prescription sleeping medication, Suri had second thoughts and called 911. He told police he wanted to kill himself and the children because he couldn't deal with his marriage ending.
Suri told officers he gave the children three sleeping pills each. The children — ages 5, 7, 10 and 11 — told officers they were each given two.
Suri told police he intended to kill himself and didn't want the children to suffer the loss of their father, the complaint says.
Suri faced a maximum of 60 years imprisonment on each of the attempted homicide counts. The child abuse charges each carry a maximum 40-year term while the drug charges carry maximum six-year prison sentences.
