Father, son arrested for beating other son (Vacaville, California)

Yup, dad ERNESTO CASTILLO SR. is doing his part to make sure his 17-year-old son is just as violent and dysfunctional as the old man. The two of them have now been arrested for assaulting another teenage son, who has spent the two months in a coma. Yes sir, every child needs a daddy, right? Notice that once again, we have no mention of the respective mothers. And given that there is more than one mother, it appears that some sort of custody/visitation thing was happening in this case, too. But of course, nobody is going to clarify that for you in the media.

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

A Vacaville father and son were arrested Wednesday in connection with an August attack on the father's other teenage son.

The victim's father, Ernesto Castillo Sr., and his 17-year-old half-brother Ernesto Castillo Jr., were taken into custody after Vacaville police obtained warrants for their arrest in relation to what police said was a brutal attack on the victim.

According to police, the unidentified 17-year-old victim was visiting at his father on Aug. 10 at his Alonzo Road home in Vacaville. At some point during the visit, the victim suffered a serious head injury and was taken to VacaValley Hospital for treatment, police said. However, the victim's condition continued to worsen and he had to be transferred to a trauma center by air ambulance where he then slipped into a coma.

Vacaville Police detectives were notified about the injury and started an investigation the following day.

The initial reports from family members suggested that the victim's injuries were the result of an accident, but detectives began noticing discrepancies in their stories, police said. The investigation was temporarily stalled because the victim was unable to communicate or provide a statement to authorities.

Now, more than two months later, the victim's condition has slowly begun to improve. Now out of his coma, he was able to tell investigators how he was injured. As a result of his information, arrest warrants were obtained for the victim's father and half brother and they were taken into custody Wednesday, police said.

Castillo was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of felony child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon resulting in great bodily injury. His 17-year-old son is currently being held at juvenile hall on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon resulting in great bodily injury. Bail has been set at $500,000 for both.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Vacaville Police Department at 449-5200 or Detective Otha Livingston at 449-5270.
