11-month-old dies from severe head injuries, Father accused of murder

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - A recent medical exam reveals an 11-month-old boy died from blunt force trauma to head, and deputies say his father is to blame.

Last Thursday, the Houston County Sheriff's Office Juvenile Division arrested and charged 26-year-old Charles Michael Taylor with the murder of his son, and aggravated assault.

According to the original incident report from December 14, Taylor claims he dropped his son onto the kitchen floor causing a head injury.

Sergeant Todd Shepherd says the medical findings say the child endured severe trauma to the head, and never regained consciousness.

The boy died a couple weeks later.

Taylor is being held at the Houston County Detention Center.

“This is still an active investigation at this time,” says Shepherd.
