Dad gets 35 years for beating death of toddler daughter during visitation (Marion County, Indiana)

Even when the courts don't order it, mothers are under incredible pressure these days to provide visitation "voluntarily" and "involve" the father--even if he turns out to be a murderous thug, like this one. It's a fathers' rights MYTH that children need a father--any father--and too often this twisted ideology means that a child gets "visits" with a violent freak.

Once again, we have a short-tempered little sh** who lost it for something stupid like soiled pants, and bashed a toddler girl to death. All because he was allowed a "visit."

Dad is identified as WAYNE BRADSHAW.

Father gets 35 years in prison in toddler’s death

Star report 7 p.m. EDT April 10, 2014

The father of a toddler who died last year after being beaten, squeezed and burned has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for his role in the child’s death.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry’s office announced Thursday that Wayne Bradshaw will serve the 35- year-sentence — plus another 10 that were suspended — as part of a plea agreement on a charge of the fatal neglect of his daughter. The charge is the highest level felony, a Class A.

Originally, Bradshaw was charged with murder, two counts of battery with injury and neglect of a dependent. The plea agreement involves only the latter charge.

After Bradshaw completes his prison sentence, he is ordered to serve an additional five years of probation, according to a release from Curry’s office. During his sentence, Bradshaw is not allowed to have any contact with children who are not biologically his.

On July 26, 2013, Bradshaw called 911 and medics found the girl, 18 or 19 months old, unresponsive. Bradshaw, the girl’s biological father, told police he had put her in the bathtub, heard a bump and found her partially submerged. He said he tried CPR.

Later, Bradshaw told police he became angry when his daughter soiled her diapers while he was watching her and her two siblings, ages 2 years and 9 months, for his girlfriend, according to court records.

A detective wrote in a court document that Bradshaw said he “lost it” and grabbed the baby by the thigh to put her in the bathtub, then yanked her arm, squeezed her torso and shook her.

The Marion County coroner’s office discovered several injuries to the girl, whose name was redacted from court documents. The injuries included: bleeding inside her head; bruises to her head, chest, neck and both thighs; hemorrhaging of her lungs, kidneys and liver; a burn on her right leg and a cut on her tongue; and a damaged rectum.

The children’s mother, Earlynn Jelks, 25, dropped the three children off with Bradshaw at his home in the 2300 block of North Rural Street on July 19, according to court records. She told police she wanted Bradshaw to spend some time with them.

Bradshaw’s mother said he called her several days later, asking her to come over because he couldn’t handle the stress of caring for the children.
