Fort Bliss father charged with capital murder in death of 11-month-old son

EL PASO, Texas – A 22-year-old El Paso father was charged in the death of his 11-month-old son that happened earlier this month.
Police said that on Feb. 7, Adam Jackson was left to care for his son, Aidan Jackson, while the mother was out.
The next morning, police said the child was found unresponsive, and emergency personnel were sent to the apartment at 3333 Zion St.
The baby was taken to the El Paso Children’s Hospital for treatment and was pronounced dead.
Police said the doctor noticed injuries to the baby’s head that seemed suspicious, and an autopsy was performed.
The autopsy showed the baby was found to have had a skull fracture and injuries to his throat and ankle.
Through the investigation, Jackson was labeled as a responsible for the injuries and he was arrested on a capital murder charge, police said.
Jackson is a Private First Class, U.S. Army Soldier stationed
at Fort Bliss and assigned to 1st Armored Division.
He was booked into the county jail on Feb. 24 with bail set at $250,000.
