Killler Dads and Custody Lists

Dad throws 2-year-old son off hotel balcony in apparent murder-suicide attempt, but "no changes in the child's custody" (Kissimmee, Florida)

Extremely vague, incomplete reporting. So we have a vicious father, JUAN PABLO MARADIAGA, who threw a toddler off a hotel balcony before jumping himself.

DCF--the epitome of bad agencies--dimly announces that there will be "no changes in the child's custody."

So what the hell was the custodial situation before? We're not told. So we don't even know what's not being changed. It would seem this idiot of a father had some sort of legal access before, but we're not told what it was or who gave it to him. Full custody, joint custody, what?

And notice that this poor baby's mother has been erased from the story. Did she have concerns about this little boy being with his father? Were there concerns reported--and ignored by those in authority? What?

Associated Press News Release

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating after they say a father threw his 2-year-old son off a second-floor, hotel balcony in central Florida before jumping himself.

Kissimmee police responded to the hotel around 2 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say Juan Pablo Maradiaga will face an attempted murder charge.

The toddler suffered multiple injuries including several fractures, but is expected to recover. He is being treated by a team of specialized physicians. Maradiaga was also hospitalized, but his condition was not known.

The Department of Children and Families is in the early stages of its investigation and has not made any changes in the child's custody.

The agency said in a statement that the child will remain safely in the hospital while they complete their assessment. The agency has not had any prior contact with the child.
