Once again, there is ZERO mention of a mother in this home or anywhere else. If there was a mother in the home, then surely she would have been questioned at minimum--especially if CPS was taking the kids. But no. We have the typical media silence instead. No idea on what happened to her. Or how dad ANTHONY BROOKS (apparently) got custody/possession of these kids.

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A Hampton father wanted after his 14-year-old son was found dead in their home was taken into custody Monday afternoon. He appeared in court Tuesday.
At 8:40 a.m. last Monday, October 28, Hampton Police Communications received a call about a deceased person in the 800 block of Teach Street, according to Mary Shackelford with the Hampton Police Division. When officers arrived, they found 14-year-old Antonio J. Brooks dead inside his home. Shackelford tells WAVY.com the teen's father, Anthony Brooks, made the call to police to report his son's death.
An investigation revealed evidence of suspected child neglect, which caused detectives to obtain a warrant for the father, 47-year-old Brooks, who lived in the same residence, according to Shackelford.
Sgt. Jason Price with the HPD said there were four other children inside the home -- ages 10, 11, 12, and 13 -- who are now with child protective services.
"Child protective services felt it was necessary to remove those children from the residence, as this is an ongoing incident," she explained.
Shackelford could not comment on the other kids' current conditions. She also said investigators won't release Antonio Brooks' cause of death because of the ongoing investigation.
According to a Hampton Police Division tweet , Brooks was taken into police custody in Newport News around 2 p.m. Monday with the help of the Newport News Police Department.
Brooks appeared in Hampton Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Tuesday morning for an arraignment.
Neighbors tell WAVY.com Brooks rarely spoke to other people when he was outside his home. Many also said they didn't even know children lived there until recently.
