Dad tells police he slept all day while toddler wandered for six hours; mom was at work (Peoria, Arizona)

UNNAMED DAD apparently doesn't get that you don't have the luxury of sleeping all day when there is a toddler in the home. Why a lot of sperm donors are piss-poor child care providers....

Wonder if this bum even had a job, or whether Mom was supporting his lazy @@$$....

And now because of his lazy @$$, she has lost custody to social services.

PEORIA, Ariz. -- The parents of a toddler found wandering a Valley neighborhood, barefoot, finally came forward to police more than six hours after the child disappeared from his home.

Peoria police said they got a call about the lost child from neighbors who found him in the Suncrest Mobile Home Park near 77th Avenue and Peoria Avenue.

The child had burns from the hot cement on his feet and a soiled diaper according to those who found him.

Police canvassed the entire mobile home park and surrounding neighborhoods knocking on doors and looking for the parents but didn't find anything.

After news reports on the child aired at 9:00 pm Friday night, the father came out of a trailer just down the street from where the little boy was found, claiming he had been asleep all day and that his toddler had somehow gotten out of his crib.

The child's mother came home from work about the same time the father had discovered him missing. She was in hysterics and crying uncontrollably as the father rushed her inside.

Police were at the home Friday night, talking to the parents to decide if their story shows this was truly an accident rather than something criminal.

For the time being the little boy remains in the custody of Child Protective Services.
