Two killed by Nandi dad buried as third dies

A third child attacked by an enraged father a week ago in Nandi died yesterday at Moi Teaching and Referral hospital where he had been in the Intensive Care unit suffering from multiple Panga wounds.
Master Kevin Kipchirchir, 10 circumbed to death as two of his brothers brutally killed by their father in the middle of the night while asleep, were being buried at Kamurguiwo village of Chepkumia location of Emgwen constituency.
Master Benard Kiprotich 15, Gedion Kiptoo 8, were pronounced dead at Kapsabet district hospital while Kipchirchir was transferred to MTRH in Eldoret for specialized treatment after the grisly attack that has shocked many people in Nandi county.
Their father Josiah Koech 48, a former prison warden, had earlier set upon his wife slashing her several times with a machete, however she escaped and lived to tell the story.
The two children were buried beside the grave of their father who was laid the previous day after he was lynched by an angry mob inside Kobujoi forest in south Nandi.
He had escaped after he brutally attacked members of his family to avoid being arrested as he had just completed another 7 year jail term handed to him after he was found guilty of murdering his nice aged 3 in 2005.
A somber mood engulfed the village during the burial as the mother of children, Agnes Koech narrated how her late husband looked an haunted man and in some occasions confessed of having executed innocent inmates while serving at Nakuru G.K. remand prison.
Emotions went high as villagers and neighbours questioned why parents were targeting their children recalling that three months ago, another villager Francis Yegon went berserk and killed his two children before hanging himself in the house his lifeless children lay.
Eliud Kipkemboi, 4 and his sister Sharon Jepkogei, 8 were hacked to death early this year at Kabaskei village in the neighbourhood after an attempt an attempt to kill his wife in cold blood aborted.
A local SDA priest Samuel Langat who presided over the burial of the children blamed widespread Satanism worship in the area.
“this are all ritual killings, we have buried 6 children killed in the same circumstances and we must stop this acts.” The priest said.
