This is quite a lengthy article, so only a portion is included here.
We've posted on killer dad TIMOTHY R. BROWN before, but this provides much more information. Specifically we see more detail regarding the custody situation that allowed this crime to take place. We need more articles like this, investigatory pieces that show how bad court decisions are putting children at risk.

When 10-year-old Alexandra Brown called her mother Saturday to say her father had taken her on a fun trip to Georgia, Nicole Brown was caught off guard.
Alexandra Brown, 10, was found dead with her father, Timothy R. Brown, 47, on Monday in Ohio.
Timothy R. Brown had custody of his daughter for the weekend, but the unexpected trip out-of-state violated the agreement with his former wife.
“She had a very bad feeling about it,” said G. Craig Soria, the mother's attorney. Despite her concern, Nicole Brown did not call authorities, fully expecting her ex-husband to drop off Alexandra on Monday at Gene Witt Elementary School in east Manatee County like he had done countless times before.
Monday morning Nicole Brown, 45, called the school to see if her daughter was there. She was not.
Brown's worry later turned to horror when she got word that her daughter was dead.
She had been shot and killed on a rural road in Ohio. Timothy Brown, 47, is believed to have then turned the gun on himself in what authorities are calling a murder-suicide.
