Grand Prairie police found a woman dead in her apartment early Sunday morning and are investigating her death as a homicide.
Police responded to a call at The Claiborne Apartments near the 3400 block of N. Hwy 360 around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The caller had gone to check on her friend because she hadn’t shown up to work the night before. When the caller arrived at the apartment, she found her friend dead.
Police said the victim had been living with her 13-month-old son, who was later found with his father. The father has been assisting in the investigation, police said, and grandparents are now taking care of the child.
Neither the victim nor a suspect has been identified.
A Grand Prairie police spokesman said he was unable to comment further on the active investigation.
