Dad admits killing 3-month-old son (Norristown, Pennsylvania)

Was there a mother in this home? There is no mention of one.

Another case where Daddy apparently got "frustrated." In this instance, the baby apparently vomited on him, so Daddy reacted violently by bashing the infant's head against a counter top and killing him.

The killer dad is identified as JAMEEL EARTHY EAST.

NORRISTOWN – A Towamencin father has admitted to fatally injuring his infant son by striking the child’s head against a bathroom sink after he became overwhelmed when the child vomited on him.

A soft-spoken Jameel Earthy East, 24, of the 400 block of Lantern Lane, showed no emotion as he pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court on Friday to charges of third-degree murder and unsworn falsification to authorities in connection with the June 25, 2011, death of his 3-month-old son, Enzo.

President Judge William J. Furber Jr. deferred sentencing so that court officials can complete a background investigative report about East.

East faces a possible maximum sentence of 21-42 years in prison on the charges. East, wearing a blue prison uniform, did not respond to a reporter’s questions as sheriff’s deputies handcuffed and transported him to the county jail to await sentencing. East’s lawyer, Kathryn L. Taxis, who was assisted by defense lawyer Jodie Griffis, said East and his lawyers had no comment at this time.

Assistant District Attorney Samantha Cauffman, who was assisted by prosecutor Jordan Friter, indicated she will seek “a significant” state prison sentence against East.

“He admitted to striking a 3-month-old baby’s head against a countertop, hard enough to cause blunt force trauma that killed the child,” said Cauffman. “No amount of frustrations or challenging circumstances can excuse smashing a baby’s head against a countertop. What the defendant did in this case is simply unacceptable.”

With the charges, authorities alleged East knowingly or recklessly caused the death of the infant at his Towamencin home. Third-degree murder is a killing committed with malice.
