SACRAMENTO, CA - A Stockton father who federal investigators say offered to send pictures of a toddler he watched to a child pornographer was sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison on a charge of downloading pornography.
Timothy Gevock, 27, will also have to register as a sex offender when he completes his sentence, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of California.
According to court records, in June 2011, Gevock had an online correspondence via a Russian photo-sharing site with an individual named Campbell living in England who was molesting a 4-year-old girl. Greater Manchester police alerted Interpol's Cyber Crime Center.
The Interpol investigation led to the issuance of a search warrant for Gevock's Stockton home where electronic equipment was seized. Court records stated an examination of one of Gevock's computers revealed he had received child pornography and visited the photo-sharing site where Campbell was offering his child pornography for trade.
The case against Gevock included evidence that he written to Campbell stating he would "love to trade pics" with Campbell. In a reply, Campbell sent six images of child pornography to the defendant and Gevock then responded he could send pictures of the 13 month old child. He also attached a non-pornographic photo of his own daughter in the bathtub. ..
