A 26-year-old Sparks father was sentenced Wednesday to more than five years in federal prison related to sharing images of child pornography on the Internet, while he was using a neighbor’s wireless account.
Nathaniel James Scoville had pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography after he was netted in 2011 in an undercover investigation by members of the Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force. He was accused of sharing and receiving images of child pornography between Oct. 19, 2011 and Nov. 15 2011, court records show.
Reno U.S. District Court Judge Howard McKibben sentenced Scoville on Wednesday to a term of five years and three months in prison, and ordered he be on supervised release for 10 years after his prison term expires.
While authorities were investigating Scoville’s activities with on-line child pornography, they discovered he had been using an upstairs neighbor’s wireless account that he used to log onto the Internet while sharing and receiving the illegal images, court records show.
During an interview with investigators, Scoville admitted he became sexually aroused when his toddler daughter sat on his lap, but denied any abuse, according to a criminal complaint.
