Stay-at-home dad charged with abusing 10-month-old son (Cottonwood, Arizona)

It used to be that mothers stayed with abusers because they needed the economic support. Even if these guys were pieces of sh**, they still brought home a paycheck.

Not anymore. These days, dads like DANIEL MIRANDA are deadbeats AND pieces of sh**. They don't work, and they can't take care of the homefront either. And because they're "violent" and "short-tempered" they abuse the children. The only reason the mothers keep these dudes around is that they're afraid to leave them.

And given that many of these guys DO kill when the mother leaves them, it is not a foolish fear. Especially when the system does NOTHING to help these mothers. On the contrary, how much you want to bet that even if she had left him, he'd get custody as the "primary caretaker"?

Notice how much this reality differs from the latest stay-at-home crap in the New York Times, which glorifies these guys to the hilt.

Father accused of abusing 10 month old

COTTONWOOD -- A 30-year-old father, who lives in the 200 block of Sixth Street, was arrested and charged with child abuse and aggravated assault per domestic violence.

A 28-year-old woman contacted Cottonwood police to reported that her husband, had been abusing their 10-month-old son. The boy had moderate bruising to the front of his upperright leg that appeared to be a few days old.

The woman said, because Daniel Miranda did not have a job, she had to go to work to support the family. Tuesday, she returned from work to find bruises on the boy. Miranda told her that he roughly picked up the boy from a high chair where he scraped his leg. When the child began crying, Miranda said he spanked him and had bruised him. She felt this discipline to be inappropriate for a 10-month-old child.

She said she had already talked to CPS and they told her to report the incident to police. The woman said she is afraid of Daniel Miranda because he has a temper and gets violent.

She also said he had a semi-auto pistol "like the one you have" that he keeps in the closet, but is now missing. Miranda was arrested and jailed Thursday.
