What is most interesting is what is (intentionally?) hidden here. And that is that dad CHRISTOPHER Z. WARREN is the CUSTODIAL FATHER of the abused 8-year-old boy--this DESPITE three accusations of child abuse over the last two years--which the Tribune, to its credit, reports. What they DON'T REPORT is whatever happened to the mother of this boy, or why Daddy continues to have custody with the full cooperation of the court authorities and child "protection."
Maybe it's Indiana fathers' rights in action again....

Plymouth father in jail accused of battery
By VIRGINIA BLACK South Bend Tribune WSBT TV 4:09 p.m. EDT, August 9, 2012
A Marshall County man whose son remained in his home despite allegations of child abuse dating back two years has been arrested, accused of battery on a dependent.
Christopher Z. Warren, 28, was in the Marshall County Jail on $20,000 cash bond Thursday.
Lt. Duane Culp with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department said Warren was charged Thursday with battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class D felony, and neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury, a C felony.
“Investigation revealed that on August 5, 2012, Christopher Zack Warren battered a dependent child during the evening hours,” the release said. “A witness that observed the abuse stated that Christopher Warren struck the victim several times on the back with his fist and hand.”
An unnamed “complainant” took the child to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department to file a report Monday, Culp said. Warren was arrested Monday night.
Police declined to name the juvenile involved, but Warren has been the subject of three previous Tribune articles about accusations of abuse against his now-8-year-old son over the last two years.
The boy’s grandmother, Debra Blacklaw of Etna Green, said Thursday she learned that Warren’s most recent case does involve the boy whose back was so badly bruised that a relative of Warren’s took him to the emergency room where he was administered a narcotic for pain. The relative then reported the incident to police, Blacklaw said.
The release states the abuse happened in the 3000 block of North Michigan Road, Plymouth. Warren lives in a mobile home park in that block with his girlfriend, their 10-month-old son, her 10-year-old daughter, and his 8-year-old son.
Culp said police investigated the case along with the local office of the Department of Child Services.
An emergency DCS hearing was called for Thursday afternoon in Judge Curtis Palmer’s courtroom. Palmer did not respond to a Tribune request to attend the hearing.
