Notice that apart from the reporting of the actual facts of this siege, that all the "explanation" for this father's actions come from his enabler family of origin. Of course, all they do is make excuses for him. How he was a "good kid," blah blah. How he was "in love" and "wanted to be with his kids." We even BLAME MOM for the actions of this piece of sh**, with vague accusations of her being "tired" of him. Sickening. But of course, the end result is that the father is stripped of any responsibility for his own actions.
As usual, Mom's point of view isn't represented at all. Or the point of view of other mothers who endure the terroristic threats (and actions) of criminal abusers and control freaks. Unfortunately, this is typical of the mainstream media, which is tends to be sympathetic to the male abuser point of view.
Frankly, it is very likely that this guy had a history of domestic violence which isn't explored here. The fact that he was once convicted of having a loaded gun in this car is telling. Usually guys like this who have guns had a pattern of using them to threaten their families all the time, either openly or subtly. Mom finally broke free and left him. But as we all know, leaving these bastards is the most dangerous time of all. All their control buttons are being punched at once, and they're freaking out.
So in this case, dad SHALWAN LESHORE broke into the mom's house and took her and their two children hostage at gunpoint. Mom and the 2-year-old daughter managed to escape. But Daddy kept the 6-year-old hostage. Then we get the Daddy Drama police standoff SWAT team thing. Same old crap. This piece of sh** never thought of anybody but himself. These narcissists never do. Never gave a thought to the trauma he was inflicting on this girl. This type never does.
It's always about Daddy and his freaking drama. I'm just glad we don't have dead mother and children for once. But you can bet that the survivors will be dealing with the emotional fallout from this for years.

A six-year-old girl has been captured running into the arms of a SWAT team officer after her father held her hostage for hours in their home, before killing himself with a single shot. T
The amazing rescue occurred after Shalwan Leshore, 29, broke into his girlfriend's home in Del City, Oklahoma overnight, taking her and their two young children hostage.
The frightened woman managed to call 911 around 7 a.m. before escaping with her two-year-old daughter, but her eldest daughter remained inside with the man.
A SWAT team swooped on the home at 7.30 a.m. and heard a gun shot. They smashed a window to throw a communication device inside to talk with Leshore but only heard the child.
The team then stormed the home and found Leshore dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, NewsOK reported.
It is believed the couple, who had been together for 10 years, had recently separated and Leshore had been unable to accept it.
His mother, Wanda Frazier, said: 'I guess she's getting tired of him and she put him and and he can't accept that. I guess he love her and love do strange things to people.'
She continued: 'I tried to talk to him and tell him to move on. I think he fell in love. He had two kids by her and his deal was he wanted to be with his kids.'
Moments before she learned of her son's death, she said: 'He's not going to hurt his kids.' 'All I know is that was my baby. That was my baby,' Leshore’s aunt Roberta Cooper added. 'He’s always been a good kid. Always.'
The stand off situation ended just before 10:30 a.m. at the home in the 1900 block of Karen Drive. But officers believe Leshore may have been dead by the time most of the team arrived as the first officer had heard the single gunshot.
'We believe now that was the shot taking his life but we couldn’t anticipate that until we actually made entry into the residence,' Del City Police Capt. Jody Suit said.
The young girl was taken into the care of her mother, and all victims escaped without injury.
Authorities added that she may have been asleep throughout some of the fracas.
Records show Leshore was charged with carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol last year.
He also pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana in 2006 and to possession of a loaded weapon in a vehicle in 2003, NewsOk reported.
