Once again, we have a father--in this case dad LLOYD "CJ" MCKINNEY" who never should have been granted visitation rights with this child.
But notice that the media consistently fails to identify that it was only because the abuser had been granted access that the abuser had the means and ability to injure the child. And because this point is nearly always fudged, the question is almost never raised as to who granted the abuser visitation and why. As a result, questions about how why abusive fathers are getting custody/visitation rights are virtually never raised. So children like this continue to be put in harm's way every single day....

SAN MARCOS - A weekend visit ended with a San Marcos man in a jail and a local child in the hospital.
San Marcos Police Commander Penny Dunn said Lloyd "CJ" McKinney, 25, was arrested Sunday night on a first degree felony charge of injury to a child with serious bodily injury.
The San Marcos man was arrested after his 14-month-old daughter was flown to University Hospital in San Antonio on Sunday with several serious injuries, Dunn said.
Investigators say the child returned home from a weekend visit with her father and her mom noticed right away something was wrong, Dunn said.
"He brought her home on Sunday to her mother's residence in Seguin and gave her to a family member," she said. "When the mother got home five minutes later she noticed the child did not seem normal."
The mother rushed the child to Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Dunn said.
"She took her to the emergency room because she was lethargic, her condition deteriorated shortly after they arrived," she said. "They did some tests and in a short amount of time the child was taken by AirLife to University Hospital in San Antonio."
Dunn said the child was being treated for "multiple skull fractures and internal injuries."
Even though the child has shown signs of improvement since arriving on Sunday, she is still in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital and is listed in serious condition, Dunn said.
Due to the severity of the injuries a restraining order has been issued, Dunn said.
"A judge has issued an emergency protective order keeping the father from visiting the child," she said. "He can not go to the hospital or to the mother's home after the child is released. It is a serious situation."
Investigators are not releasing specific details of the case - including how the child was injured, Dunn said.
McKinney is being held at the Hays County Jail with bail set $75,000 by Justice of the Peace Joanne Prado.
If found guilty, injury to a child with serious bodily injury is a first degree felony and could be punishable by 5-99 years in prison and a fine up $10,000.
