D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - For the second time in just about a week, a D'Iberville man is under arrest, accused of hitting his wife as she held their child in her arms.
Kenneth James Allen, 21, is charged with Felony Domestic Violence and Felony Neglect of a Child.
Officers were called to investigate a domestic violence complaint in the Gorenflo area of D'Iberville. When they arrived, the victim said she had been assaulted by her husband, Allen.
Officers then discovered that the woman had been holding the couple's 16-month-old child in her arms when she was attacked. Investigators said the toddler fell to the ground during the fight, causing cuts and abrasions on the child's body.
D'Iberville Police Chief Wayne Payne said Allen is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center under a $100,000 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
If you have any information that could help investigators, call the D'Iberville Police Department at (228) 396-4252 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898. You can also report a tip online at www.crimestoppers.com.
On June 27th, another D'Iberville man was arrested in a similar incident. In that case, the man was accused of assaulting the mother of his three-month-old child while she held their baby. Police said during that attack, the father struck the infant once with his fist.
