You know what? Apart from all the spin and propaganda, there are not an awful lot of dads who really want to take on infant care. Many don't have any idea how to take care of a baby, so they often get totally "frustrated" with crying and dirty diapers. In addition, couples who separate when there are infants in the picture already have a big red flag in the picture. Chances are already high that abuse, drugs/alcohol abuse, or rampant irresponsibility is in the mix. Not just that they "grew apart."
So my radar always goes up with a father is loudly insisting on visitation with an infant. It is extremely likely in these cases that his motivation involves some combination of tormenting the mother, his ex-partner, and reducing child support. Both tendencies show up with alarming frequency in violent, controlling men.
So it is not surprising--though appalling--that dad JASON JENKINS murdered the mother of their 3-month-old daughter over a visitation rights "dispute." In reality? This was no "dispute" at all. Daddy had no desire to share custody. He just wanted to punish Mom in the worst way, and exercise total control. If taking her helpless infant away from her wasn't enough, than gunning her down was the next solution. And how caring was this daddy really, when he was more than happy to leave a 3-month-old baby without a mother?
If the mother objected to this homicidal idiot having infant visitation, can we now say that she had good and solid reasons for not wanting a baby to go off with this criminal?

Police: Long Island Man Kills Ex, Self In Apartment With Three Kids
July 12, 2011 10:32 AM
BAY SHORE, NY (WCBS 880) - Police on Long Island say a man fatally shot his ex-girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself during a dispute over visitation rights.
They say a 12-year-old boy, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-month-old girl were in the Bay Shore apartment at the time but were not injured.
Police say 27-year-old Jason Jenkins entered the apartment at Spruce Street and 3rd Avenue at 1 a.m. Tuesday with a shotgun and got into a dispute with Sanita Williams over visitation rights involving the infant. Police say they were the infant’s parents.
Williams lived in the apartment with her 31-year-old sister, who police say jumped from the second-story window during the shooting, breaking her leg.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the two older children belonged to the 26-year-old Williams or her sister.
