Dad charged after throwing 8-week-old son onto a sidewalk; was mad that mom wouldn't give HIM money (Malden, Massachusetts)

Dad CARLOS EDWARDS sounds like an utterly useless parasite. Notice that he "allegedly" threw his 8-week-old son head first into a concrete sidewalk after the mother refused to give HIM money. Daddy should be supporting HER AND THE BABY, not the other way around. I see this as part and parcel of the fathers rights movement. Everything is entitlement, but there's no personal responsibility.

(NewsCore) - The Massachusetts infant who was seriously injured after his father allegedly threw him onto a sidewalk is making a quick recovery and could leave the hospital as early as Monday, the boy's mother said.

Crystle Sears, 23, described her son Carmelo's recovery as a "miracle" in a Facebook message posted to a page asking people to pray for the eight-week-old baby.

Sears said when she went to the hospital over the weekend, "he was off all of the machines and support," adding that "he is almost fully recovered and the docs cant explain but we mite be released on Monday."

The baby was rushed to the hospital Wednesday night after his father, 34-year-old Carlos Edwards, allegedly threw him headfirst on to a concrete sidewalk, myFOXboston.com reported last week.

According to witnesses, Edwards confronted the baby's mother at her home in Malden, a suburb of Boston, and asked her for money.

When she refused, Edwards allegedly grabbed the baby right out of her hands.

Edwards has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and battery on a child causing serious bodily injury, according to the Boston Globe.

He was ordered held without bail and is scheduled to appear in Malden District Court Thursday for a dangerousness hearing.
