Let's do a quick anaylsis of this list of pending child-murder cases in Florida's Orange and Osceola Counties.
Heading up at the top: The Caylee Anthony murder, which has recieved non-stop national media attention (including tabloids) for nearly three years. Of course in this case, a mother is charged. Obviously, we wanted to give this case prominent mention, in case somebody has been in a coma for the past three years and has never heard of it.
We also have a mother and a boyfriend charged in the murder of her 3-year-old son. That makes a total of TWO MOTHERS.
We also have one female babysitter charged, who apparently acted independently.
Now what about the guys? We have SIX FATHERS CHARGED (and one new gal pal allegedly acting in conjunction with the dad). Also, TWO BOYFRIENDS acting as caretakers and independently of the mother. And one male other caretaker (his relationship to child, mother not identified). At least two of these murders were custody/visitation cases too, and that's just going by my feeble memory.
Who's the biggest danger to kids again? The media will be happy to remind you. It's the Mother who's the Complete Embodiment of All Evil (Casey Anthony again)!
