Read carefully, and you'll see that JAMES JOSEPH PETER-PAUL wasn't some random "man" charged in the death of this 3-year-old boy. In fact, this "man" was this boy's custodial father. Why was this little boy "living with" Dad and his new gal pal anyway? Who knows. Not one word of explanation as to who made this decision and why.

INDIAN BROOK — James Joseph Peter-Paul has been charged with second-degree murder in the October 2010 death of three-year-old Matthew James Raymond Peter-Paul.
Peter-Paul was arrested by Indian Brook RCMP Friday morning at his residence in the community. He will appear at Shubenacadie provincial court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
RCMP would not confirm if the 29-year-old man charged was the boy’s father, though Matthew’s obituary said his parents were James Peter-Paul of Indian Brook and Allisan Tucker of Truro.
At 11:50 p.m. on Oct. 1, Matthew was rushed to Colchester Regional Hospital by ambulance in cardiac arrest. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly thereafter.
After an autopsy was performed, RCMP said the death was "suspicious."
The death has been under investigation ever since, RCMP spokeswoman Sgt. Brigdit Leger said Saturday.
"I can’t confirm the specific evidence that led to the arrest," Leger said. "The . . . information gathered during the course of the investigation resulted in the charge."
In an October interview with The Chronicle Herald, Tanar Repchull, a friend of the boy’s mother, said Tucker was in Ontario when Matthew died. He said the boy had been living with James Peter-Paul and Peter-Paul’s girlfriend.
"He was just a ball of energy and a healthy kid," Repchull said at the time of Matthew.
Repchull went to the boy’s funeral at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church in Indian Brook on Oct. 6.
"The church was just packed and you could tell it was the whole community coming together," he said in the interview.
Tucker, a musician, sang with some family members during the service.
"It was just unbelievable to see," Repchull said. "You couldn’t come away from it without crying. That’s for sure."
Tucker is a rapper and emcee who also goes by the stage name Lachesis. A 2008 Industry Canada listing had her as the owner of Karma Entertainment, a Truro business.
There were many expressions of sympathy posted on her Facebook page.
Indian Brook is part of the Shubenacadie First Nation. Band councillors contacted Saturday declined to comment on the arrest.
