It appears this child may have been in some sort of custody/visitation situation, because it's mentioned that the 17-month-old daughter found the oxycontin on the floor of the father's bedroom. Not the parents' bedroom. Now unless this is a wealthy couple with separate bedrooms (not likely), this case seems to involve a father who--at minimum--had visitation with a child who was less than a 1 1/2 years in age. And very possibly custody, since it is also said that the house in which she died was the daughter's home. And notice there is no mention of a mother. Why?
INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The father accused in the death of his 17-month-old daughter has been formally charged.
Thirty–year-old Manuel Rivera is facing seven charges, including child abuse recklessness resulting in death, child abuse negligence resulting in death, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and three habitual criminal charges.
He’s due back in court later this month. His daughter, Analeisa Rivera was found dead in her Clifton home.
According to the arrest affidavit, the little girl died of oxycodone intoxication she likely got from the floor on his bedroom.
