Sexually abused child returned to Dad's home for court-ordered "therapy" (Columbia County, Georgia)

This is one repulsive story. And it has political influence and molester coddling all over it. Dad SCOTT DEAN (who just HAPPENS to be a former county commissioner) has been charged with sexually abusing one of his adopted daughters. Initially, the three girls were removed from the home and placed in foster care because at least one of the girls was "allegedly" molested and the other two were "potential witnesses." Or as it's explained below, we wanted to ensure a "fair" trial for Daddy with no "tainted" testimony. (If that doesn't turn your stomach, than nothing will).

But given that sexually abusive daddies get a carte blanche these days, one of the girls has been returned to Daddy's home by juvenile court judge DOUG FLANAGAN. What the hell for? Because the so-called "family counselor" wants to do "intensive" family counseling including the perp and the "alleged" victim! The judge explains that it's all good because the mother is "very cooperative" in this. So what?? Not only that, but the Judge ordered ALL THE OTHER KIDS to continue "treatment" with a "different court-appointed counselor." Well, all the kids except the kid who ran away last year (that should tell you something about this home, but the Judge is apparently not getting the message or doesn't give a sh**).

Why are these kids being "ordered" into therapy whether it's welcome or not, with a therapist who at any rate is not of their choosing? And with the abuser present no less! What a great way to let these kids know that their safety, their wishes, their feelings have no consequences, and that Daddy and his buddies are in charge. Utterly disgusting.

What else do you need to know about fathers' rights, and the complete lack of children's rights in this country? SHAME ON JUDGE DOUG FLANAGAN for further abusing these already traumatized kids.

One of three female children removed from former Columbia County commissioner Scott Dean's home Monday was returned after a Juvenile Court hearing on Tuesday.

Superior Court Judge James G. Blanchard Jr. removed the three girls to ensure fairness in Dean's ongoing criminal case and that their testimony in the case against their father is untainted.

A grand jury indicted Dean, a former county commissioner, on two counts of child molestation on Feb. 2. He pleaded not guilty to those charges on Feb. 18.

The family counselor treating the Deans requested an "intensive" family counseling session, to include Dean. But not participating in family counseling with the children was a condition of Dean's bond because one of the children is the alleged victim and the others potential witnesses, Blanchard said.

The appointed guardian ad litem for the children informed Blanchard of the request and opposed it.

Blanchard referred the children to Juvenile Court Judge Doug Flanagan for placement and continued treatment.

After hearing testimony at the Tuesday hearing, Flanagan said he returned one of the girls to the Dean's Harlem home and ordered the other two remain in foster care. He said Dean's wife, Renee, has been and remains very cooperative.

The Deans have two biological sons and adopted five children - four girls and a boy - from Guatemala in 2008. Dean has not lived in the family's home since the state Department of Family Children Services temporarily removed the adopted children in October.

Flanagan said he also ordered that all of the Dean children, except the oldest adopted daughter Marlin, who ran away last year to Mexico, continue treatment with a different, court-appointed counselor.

The case, handled by DFCS since October, has not had judicial oversight until now, Flanagan said.
