Another case I found in my attempt to do a little email housekeeping. Don't you love the way dad DAVID ZACHER just couldn't "remember the attacks" that killed his wife and 4-year-old daughter? (A 2-year-old daughter was severely wounded.) The jury didn't buy it though, so Daddy was convicted of 1st-degree homicide for the stabbing deaths of the mom and the 4-year old, and 1st-degree assault for the attack on the two-year old.

Accused killer of wife, child found guilty
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) -- An engineer accused of stabbing to death his wife and their 4-year-old daughter and severely wounding their 2-year-old was found guilty Saturday of first-degree murder and first-degree assault.
David Zacher, 35, told a police dispatcher after the killings, "I've just hurt my family ... I'm so sorry."
A jury rejected Zacher's defense that he was legally insane at the time of the April 2005 attacks and that there was insufficient proof he acted intentionally.
Zacher had claimed his wife slapped him during an argument, and the next thing he knew, he was covered in blood and his family was on the kitchen floor. He said he didn't remember the attacks.
The attacks killed Karelin Zacher, 34, and their daughter, Halle Zacher, 4. Elizabeth Zacher, now 3, was wounded.
The jury deliberated for two days.
Zacher faces a mandatory prison sentence ranging from a minimum of 20 years to life to a maximum of life imprisonment without parole.
