Dad who left toddler in car pleads no contest (Pasadena, California)

We've posted on this case several times. Finally, daddy LOUIE KURIHARA has pleaded no contest to public intoxication and child abuse.

Father who left toddler in car pleads no contest

A prosecutor says a father who got drunk and left his 3-year-old son strapped in his car seat in a Pasadena parking garage for more than a day has pleaded no contest to public intoxication, child abuse and other charges.

Deputy District Attorney Carolina Lugo says Louie Kurihara was sentenced to one year each in county jail and a residential drug treatment program after entering his plea Wednesday. He also was ordered to serve five years of probation and undergo a year of parenting classes.

Authorities say Kurihara had taken his son to a wedding last October. He put the child in a car seat after leaving the reception then drove to a nearby parking garage and left him in the car.

A local man found the boy.
