November 16, 2010
CLARKSVILLE — A 22-year-old father is accused of leaving his 3-year-old son alone while he went drinking.
According to a news release from the Clarksville Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call early Saturday after a neighbor saw the child outside near the road and crying for his mother.
When officers arrived the boy was inside asleep on a couch. The door was wide open and loud music was playing.
The father, 22-year-old Joseph Moore, arrived about an hour later smelling strongly of alcohol.
The mother, who was out of town, later told police she thought the child had been given a large dose of Benadryl to keep him asleep.
Moore was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with child neglect. His son was put into the care of a neighbor until the mother could return.

Police: Dad left 3-year old son alone while he went out drinking (Clarkville, Tennessee)
Poor baby. Outside the house crying for his mom while dad JOSEPH MOORE is out drinking and nowhere to be found. Seems Mom tried to use Dad as a babysitter while she went out of town. Seems Daddy might have drugged the kid too. Unbelievable.
