So now it appears that LUCAS PETERSON will be charged in the death of his nearly 1-year-old daughter. From all appearances, this daddy is quite an operator. Figured he could cut a deal and show the authorities where he dumped the baby's body--and still avoid criminal charges. Daddy was the sole caretaker at the time of the child's death. We've posted on this case before.

Neb. court won't reconsider charges in child death
Associated Press - October 30, 2010 1:55 PM ET
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Supreme Court won't reconsider its decision to allow charges for a man suspected in his infant daughter's death.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that the high court on Wednesday overruled Lucas Peterson's request for a rehearing on the Sept. 24 decision, which led to charges of child abuse resulting in death and unlawful burial. Peterson could face life in prison if convicted.
Prosecutors say Trista Peterson, nearly 1, died in January 2007 at her father's apartment in Pleasant Dale, about 70 miles southwest of Omaha. Lucas Peterson cut a deal with prosecutors and in April of that year led authorities to her body in a shallow grave in neighboring Butler County.
A district judge had ruled the deal meant charges couldn't be filed.
