Dad jailed for battering 1-month-old baby (Terre Haute, Indiana)

Dad KENNETH E. RUSSELL has basically admitted that he "severely injured" this newborn on at least three occasions when he was alone with the baby--mostly because he got "frustrated" from the crying. Eleven broken bones and a brain injury because Daddy has a low level of frustration. What an @$$hole....

TERRE HAUTE — A Greene County man was in jail Monday night after being arrested on allegations of causing serious bodily injury to his one-month-old child.

Kenneth E. Russell, 26, of Jasonville is facing allegations that he severely injured his baby on three different occasions.

Authorities at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where the baby was taken a week ago, reported that the infant had 11 broken bones, according to probable cause documents filed in Greene County Circuit Court on Monday.

In addition to broken bones, the baby also suffered from bleeding on the brain, the court documents state.

According to the court documents, Greene County child services officials informed Detective Paul Suding of the Indiana State Police of the child’s injuries. Hospital officials reported that the injuries “appeared to be consistent with abuse,” the court documents state.

Suding stated in the probable cause document that he spoke with the mother and father of the baby.

The father, Kenneth Russell, admitted to causing the child’s injuries and stated that the child’s mother, Connie Russell, would never hurt any of her children, Suding stated in the probable cause documents.

According to the court documents, Kenneth Russell stated that he caused the injuries to his child on three different occasions when he was alone with the child. On two of the occasions, the baby was crying and would not stop, Russell reportedly told Suding.

Kenneth Russell is facing three counts of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a class-B felony. He was in the Greene County jail Monday night.
