Police: Custodial dad, girlfriend cuffed 11-year-old daughter to desk, beat her, starved her (Holden, Louisiana)

Ah, the mysteries of biology. You figure dad DONALD MILLER III must have given birth to this girl all by himself! As there is absolutely NO EXPLANATION as to how she ended up in her father's custody. No mention of her mother, or whether she is alive or dead. It's as if this child showed up in a cabbage patch or was delivered by a stork. The mother is written out of the story as if she had never existed.

Meanwhile, police say daddy cuffed his daughter to a desk, beat her, and systematically starved her. The girl is now in "protective custody."

If the mother is alive, how did Daddy Dearest get custody? Who gave it to him and why? Since daddies don't get babies by an accident of biology and only acquire babies by their association with human mothers, this is a question that needs to be answered.

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

HOLDEN, LA (WAFB) - A man and his girlfriend were arrested Tuesday evening after investigators found an 11-year-old girl had been handcuffed to a desk, beaten and suffered malnourishment from abuse authorities said began in June. A medical exam showed she only weighed 56 pounds.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said Donald Miller III, 33, abused his daughter and Lisa Faber, 32, knew about it and did nothing. The two lived together in Holden and were booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on a variety of charges, which are listed below.

According to deputies, the victim would be handcuffed to a desk, sometimes overnight. She was forced to eat and do homework there. Deputies added she was not allowed to go to the bathroom when she needed and would be released the next morning to go to school.

Detectives reported Miller hit her in the face about two weeks ago, which left the child with a black eye. There was apparently an incident in which the girl's head was slammed down on the desk, chipping one of her teeth.

Investigators said Miller admitted to the handcuffing, beating and other forms of abuse, but he did not remember the above mentioned incident which left his daughter with a chipped tooth.

The Louisiana Office of Community Services placed the victim in protective custody. A 12-year-old and 10-month-old, also living in the home, were taken out of the home and sent to live elsewhere.

Miller was charged with second-degree battery on a juvenile, cruelty to a juvenile, false imprisonment and aggravated battery of a juvenile. He is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Faber was charged with principal to second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and principal to false imprisonment. Her bond was set at $100,000.

Detectives said they are still investigating this case and additional charges are possible.
