Dad gets 9 years after shooting at "estranged" wife, threatens to kill daughters (Toledo, Ohio)

Dad VICTOR RODRIQUEZ (a/k/a VICTOR SAENZ) has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for firing a shotgun at his "estranged" wife while she was fleeing from him. This @$$wipe also threatened to kill their daughters. Notice that this all came to a head when the mom finally worked up the courage to leave this idiot. Once again, we see that leaving an abuser is the most dangerous time in the life of a domestic violence survivor.

Sadly, we see the mom parrotting the near mandatory line these days about how she still "loves" this man "because he is the father of my three children." The same guy who threatened to kill said children, but oh well. Father exaltation is so entrenched these days, that nobody is allowed to say "I don't love this guy, he's a son of a bitch." Because all mommies have to stay "sweet" you know. Never allowed to get angry. That's not nice. And we are required to be nice, no matter what. Even when your own children are threatened. Sickening and completely unnatural.

Toledo man gets 9 years after chasing, shooting at estranged wife

A Toledo man who threatened his family, shot into his home, and pursued his estranged wife in a vehicle while firing a shotgun at her was sentenced in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Wednesday to nine years in prison.

Victor Rodriguez, 39, also known as Victor Saenz, pleaded no contest last month to two counts of felonious assault, one with a three-year gun specification, and one count of discharging a firearm into a habitation with a one-year gun specification. Judge Gary Cook followed the recommended sentence and ordered him to prison for five years on each of the charges, to run concurrently, plus an additional four years for gun specifications.

As part of the agreement, 12 other charges were dismissed.

During an emotional statement made to the court, Rodriguez's wife, who has since filed for divorce, said that she had felt trapped for most of her 21-year marriage. It was when she had the courage to leave that Rodriguez called up his daughters and said he would kill them, she said.

"They watched through the blinds from a neighbor's house and saw him shoot into the home," she said. "Yes, I love that man because he is the father of my three children but it will take a long time to forgive that man."

Rodriguez apologized to his daughters and insisted he would not have hurt them.

He added he had been suffering from depression at the time of the June 17, 2009, incident.
