HELD IN CHILD'S MURDER.
Father of Slain Girl, Wanted in Pennsylvania, Found in Brooklyn.
Arthur Strykes was arrested at the home of Peter Chesnavitch, 251 Metropolitan Avenue, Williamsburgh, Brooklyn, at the request of the police in Edwardsville, Pa., in connection with the murder of his 4-year-old daughter, who was insured for $52. He will be arraigned this morning in Bridge Plaza Court to await extradition.
In January of this year Strykes collected $52 from an insurance company, the police say, claiming his daughter was dead. Later it is said the insurance company learned the child was alive and notified Strykes to return the money or be prosecuted. Later, the child's body was found in a creek. The same day her father disappeared. The Brooklyn police were informed. An autopsy showed that the child had been murdered and thrown into the creek after death, according to the police.
