Dad pleads not guilty to beating wife, 12-year-old son; he's free on no bail (Ashland, Massachusetts)

Dad ZALMAN KAMERMAN has pleaded not guilty to assault and battery charges in connection with an attack on his wife and 12-year-old son. Yup, he's pleading "not guilty" even though the son called the police from a locked bathroom, and the wife had a bloody nose and red marks on her neck when police arrived.

Oh, and check this out: Dad admits he grabbed her grabbed her by the throat and pushed her. He just didn't punch her. Mmm, okay. Thanks for clarifying that for us, dude. We can see you're really a good guy now--you only strangle, you don't hit. WTF?

And get this, this idiot is FREE WITHOUT BAIL and still living with his wife and son. He's just "ordered" not to abuse them. What kind of fantasy world does this judge live in? I want tickets!

WOBURN — An Ashland man charged with attacking both his wife and young son in December pleaded not guilty to the charges yesterday in Middlesex Superior Court.

Zalman Kamerman, 36, is charged with two counts of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, reckless endangerment of a child and assault and battery.

Kamerman was arrested on Dec. 19 after a domestic dispute at his 75 East Bluff Road home, authorities said.

They said Kamerman's 12-year-old son locked himself in the bathroom and called police to say his father was beating his mother.

When police arrived, they found Kamerman's 51-year-old wife with blood coming from a cut on her nose and red finger marks on her neck.

In a report filed in court, police said Kamerman's wife told them he accused her of cheating and began trying to strangle her while threatening to kill her.

Police said she broke away long enough to tell her son to call police before he began punching and slapping her again.

The wife also said Kamerman had attacked their son earlier in the day after an argument about school, authorities said.

Kamerman denied punching his wife, but did admit to grabbing her throat and pushing her, according to a police report filed in the case.

In court yesterday, Kamerman's lawyer, Serge Georges Jr., waived his client's appearance for the arraignment and pleaded not guilty on his behalf.

Kamerman remains free without bail. He is living with his family but has been ordered not to abuse his wife or son.

Kamerman is due back in court on April 21 for a pretrial conference.
