BEVERLY — A Beverly father who is already serving a 22-year prison sentence for trying to arrange the murder of his wife, mother-in-law and 9-year-old daughter has pleaded guilty to additional state charges.

John Orlowski, 51, was sentenced Wednesday in Salem Superior Court to an additional eight to 12 years on gun charges and five years probation for other charges, including violating a restraining order.

Orlowski is already in federal prison, so the additional sentences will be tacked on to his 22-year murder-for-hire sentence. All told, Orlowski will be imprisoned or under probation until he's 78 years old, Essex County District Attorney spokeswoman Carrie Kimball-Monahan said.

In 2007, Orlowski had been ordered to turn over all of his weapons to police after a judge issued a domestic restraining order. Police confiscated 121 guns from his home — so many that Orlowski advised officers to bring a truck.

But he told police later that he hadn't turned over all his guns, and police found more.

When Orlowski was arrested a month later, officers found another gun — a MAC-10 assault weapon — hidden in a garden shed at his former home.

Orlowski plead guilty to 11 charges yesterday, including machine gun possession, possession of a firearm without a license and marijuana possession.

Earlier this year, he was sentenced to 221/2 years in prison after pleading guilty in the murder-for-hire plot. Orlowski tried to hire a gang member to kill his estranged wife, 65-year-old mother-in-law, and his own 9-year-old daughter. He was arrested at the Kowloon in Saugus in 2007 after the gang member, troubled by the request to kill a child, had secretly gone to authorities.
