Are you or your children at risk of domestic murder? TAKE THE TEST

The section below on the Danger Assessment Tool is part of a longer article on domestic violence in Minnesota. Feel free to read the entire article if you like, but I want to focus your attention on the Danger Assessment Tool. If we can save even one life by circulating this information, it will be well worth it.

THE DANGER ASSESSMENT TOOL

The Danger Assessment Tool was developed in 1985 and revised in 1988 after reliability and validity studies were done. Completing the quiz can help a victim evaluated dangers and develop options.

Studies have found women who score 8 or higher on the Danger Assessment are at “very grave risk.” Women who scored 4 or higher on the Assessment are at “great risk.”

Some of the leading indicators of domestic murder are the following questions:

Partner used or threatened with a weapon? (20 times more likely to become a homicide victim)

Partner threatened to kill you? (14 times more likely)

Partner tried to choke you? (9 times more likely)
