Not only that, but custodial dad JAMES TAYLOR and the step are continuously misrepresented as "the parents" when they are not "the parents." They are the custodial dad and a step. Of course, this just further begs the question as to how this crazy @$$ father got custody and who gave it to him.
Notice that the kids are now living with unnamed "relatives." Again, what happened to Mom?
Hint to media: when a custodial dad is found guilty of abusing the kids, and Mom is (conveniently) "absent" from the picture, it would behoove you to find out what happened to her. Did she "mysteriously" die? Has she simply "disappeared" (meaning somebody hid the body well)? What? Because chances are quite high that you will find that she was abused as well.

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — An eastern Ohio couple has pleaded guilty to punishing their three children by forcing them into plastic storage boxes sealed with duct tape and only a square cut in the top for air.
The children, ages 5, 6 and 8, were crammed into the boxes as punishment June 16 at the family home in Steubenville while the parents went to the grocery store and left two uncles at home with them, authorities said. A friend of the family arrived at the house, got the children out of the boxes and contacted police.
Their father, James Taylor, faces up to three years in prison on charges of felony child endangerment and misdemeanor unlawful restraint, though the prosecution's recommended sentence was one year plus probation, Jefferson County assistant prosecutor Jeffrey Bruzzese told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
The prosecution recommended the children's stepmother, Samantha Taylor, spend four months behind bars for unlawful restraint, Bruzzese said.
"It's clear from the investigation that James was directing this abuse," Bruzzese said. "It's repulsive that Samantha allowed it to happen."
In a deal with prosecutors, the couple pleaded guilty Tuesday. A sentencing date for the pair hasn't been set.
The two uncles also pleaded guilty to unlawful restraint and were sentenced to a year of probation. Prosecutors said they helped put the children in the boxes, with one of them cutting the air holes.
Authorities said the children were in the boxes for about 15 to 30 minutes, with square holes cut out of the lids to expose the top part of their faces. Bruzzese said it was apparent that water was dumped on top of the children while they were restrained in the totes.
There was no indication they had been put in the boxes before, but Bruzzese has said it was part of a cycle of abuse by the parents that included having weights dropped on their feet.
Bruzzese told The AP that the children are now living with other relatives and doing well.
Steubenville is on the Ohio-West Virginia state line, about 150 miles east of Columbus.

How does one "accidentally" mix gin in with baby formula? Seriously?? And if it was an "accident," how and when did Daddy know learn about his "mistake"? And if it was a mistake, why did Daddy "forget" to mention it until asked by medical personnel? This really doesn't pass the smell test.
Notice that there is NO MENTION OF A MOTHER in this household. We see that a babysitter is mentioned, but no mom. So was there one? If there was one, and she was not responsible for this "accident," then why is the baby now in foster care? Is this a single dad or something?

An 8-week-old infant in Los Angeles became ill after his father allegedly mixed the baby's formula with gin instead of water by accident.
Although it's not clear whether the father was telling the truth, the baby was found to have a high blood alcohol level — equivalent to about five times the legal limit for an adult operating a motor vehicle.
The baby was brought to the emergency room after his babysitter noticed that the infant was experiencing breathing problems— including gasping for air — and had gone limp. At the hospital, the doctors smelled alcohol on the baby, and ordered a blood alcohol test. The father mentioned the possible gin-water mix-up only after being questioned about the baby's high alcohol level.
This infant experienced what doctor's call an "apparent life-threatening event," or ALTE, an episode that is alarming to an observer because a person displays symptoms such as color change or gagging. When emergency room doctors see a case like this, they must work quickly to figure out what could be wrong with the patient, said Dr. Taylor McCormick, an emergency medicine physician at the Los Angeles County & University of Southern California Medical Center.
Cases of infant alcohol poisoning are rare, and emergency room doctors may not always think to check a baby's blood alcohol level when they see an ALTE, McCormick said. At McCormick's hospital, where the baby was treated (McCormick didn't personally treat the infant), doctors had ordered blood alcohol tests for infants just six times during the course of a year, and knew of only one other case in which the results had come back positive. (The emergency room treats more than 22,000 children a year.)
While McCormick doesn't think every baby that experiences an ALTE should be screened for alcohol poisoning, if maltreatment is suspected, alcohol screening should be considered, she said.
McCormick and colleagues describe this case of infant alcohol poisoning in the Jan. 14 issue of the journal Pediatrics.
Not many studies on infant alcohol poisoning have been done, but from what is known, babies appear to metabolize alcohol faster than adults, McCormick said. Symptoms of alcohol poisoning in babies can include difficulty breathing, reduced activity and seizures. Some studies have found a risk for low blood sugar.
The long-term effects on the baby are also unclear, and a one-time event may not cause problems. However, breathing difficulties could deprive the baby's brain of oxygen, possibly causing brain damage, McCormick said.
The baby featured in the journal article spent several months in the hospital, and was ultimately discharged to the care of foster parents after the Department of Children and Family Services was notified about the case. There was a plan in place for the baby to work with a therapist because the doctors were concerned the baby had a developmental delay, McCormick said. Whether this condition was present before the poisoning, or resulted from it, is hard to say, McCormick said, but "it's certainly possible that he could have a lasting deficit from the alcohol poisoning."

All cases of child abuse, especially fatal child abuse, are despicable. But this one has affected me more than most.
It appears that this dumb @$$ of a father got all pissy because a 2-year-old girl soiled herself. So he held her down in scalding water, causing severe burns. Burns that proved fatal over the course of a few hours. Hours of excrutiating pain and misery.
Meanwhile, the dumb @$$ father DOES NOTHING to alleviate her suffering. Nope, he simply dumps the daughter's body in the trunk of a car--like she was some bag of manure--and drives off to pick up the mom from work. (I'm thinking that the dumb @$$ is probably a deadbeat as well, sponging off of Mom.)
The dumb @$$ then refuses to tell Mom where the girl is. He then tells her lies. Then he confesses and admits that the child is dead and in the trunk of the car.
It was Mom who called 911 and other family members who tried--unsuccessfully--to revive the little girl. Meanwhile, the cowardly dumb @$$ takes off in his own mother's car so he won't have to face the medics.
The dumb @$$ looks pretty much like worthless crap anyway you look at it. Like another one of those useless "primary caregiver" dads or "stay-at-homes" who don't do sh**. And that's if you're lucky.
And perhaps the worst part? The little girl had PLEADED WITH HER MOMMY NOT TO GO TO WORK. It's as if she had known how bad her daddy was and just couldn't put it into words. As if she knew what would happen to her when Mommy left. Just horrible.

FORT WORTH -- The father of a two-year-old girl who soiled herself held the girl down in a bathtub filled with scalding water that caused burns to more than 30 percent of her body, according to court testimony Wednesday.
After the child died from the burns, her father stuffed her body in the trunk of a car then drove the car to pick up the child's mother from work.
Charles Bellamy is being tried for the murder of his daughter, Jaz'mine Howard Bellamy in state District Judge Louis Sturns' court.
Nizam Peerwani, the Tarrant County medical examiner, told the jury that a child would be able to get out of water hot enough to cause that much pain unless she was being held down.
The burn pattern indicates that the child struggled to escape the water, estimated at 120 degrees, and struggled to escape the grasp of the person who was pinning her below the water line, Peerwani said.
"These immersion burns are very painful. As the heat continues, the skin begins to peel off," Peerwani said.
The skin shows damage from immersion burns within a few minutes, and within a few hours the child will go into shock and die, Peerwani said. Jaz'mine Howard received first- and second-degree burns in an asymmetrical pattern on her lower torso, thighs, buttocks, lower back, feet and legs, Peerwani said.
The chance of surviving this type of burn injury is high if medical attention is received quickly, Peerwani said. Peerwani told the jury Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas is one of the best burn centers in the nation, but the two-year-old never got a chance to receive medical attention.
In a 911 tape played for the jury, the child's mother could be heard screaming, "No. She's dead. She's really cold. She's in the trunk of the car. She's got bruises and stuff."
Joy Howard, 21, testified that the last time she saw her daughter alive was just before she left for work.
"Of course, Jaz'mine didn't want me to go," Howard said. "I told her, 'Mommy will see you when I get off."
Howard testified that when Bellamy came to pick her up from work, Jaz'mine was not in the car and her father would not say where she was.
"He told me there had been an accident and I started to panic," Howard said. "He said he had been drinking and had fallen asleep, and when he woke up he found her in the bathtub drowned."
Howard said she kept asking where the child was and Bellamy told her that he had taken her to Arlington Memorial Hospital, but that because he had been drinking, he did not get out of the car. Howard said she could not smell any alcohol.
"At that point he was talking about suicide," Howard said. "Pulling up to his mom's house, he is apologizing, saying he's sorry. Then he told me that Jaz'mine was in the trunk of my car. Charles said, 'She's dead,' and I was yelling, 'Call 911, Jaz'mine's in my trunk.' "
Howard said Bellamy's mother and brother were performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Jaz'mine while Bellamy went into the house.
When he came back outside, he had his mother's keys, Howard said. Bellamy drove off in his mother's car as the paramedics arrived, Howard said. When she next saw her daughter, Jaz'mine was naked and wrapped in a sheet in the trunk of her car, Howard testified.
"I was in the middle of the yard kicking and screaming," Howard said. "I didn't know what to do at that point."
Howard told the jury she believed that her daughter had drowned until she saw the burn marks on her body.
"I dropped," Howard said. "It made me sick." Howard testified Bellamy turned himself into authorities on March 22, the day of Jaz'mine's funeral.

Thirty-nine-year-old Chris Miller, of Scotland, is on trial in Parker on several charges including second-degree murder in the March 2011 death of 4-month-old Jacob Miller. Attorneys on both sides gave their opening statements to the jury Tuesday.
Prosecutor Lisa Rothschadl told jurors that Miller abused his son and that the boy died of injuries that “were not accidental.”
Defense attorney Tim Whalen told the jury that Miller’s wife, Stacy, rolled over on Jacob while drunk.
Judge Glen Eng has blocked off 10 days for the trial. Miller faces life in prison if convicted of murder.

Sheboygan man charged with injuring 7-week old
SHEBOYGAN, Wis.(WHBL) - A Sheboygan man is facing a charge of felony physical abuse of a child and his 7-week old daughter remains hospitalized at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. 32 year old George Kuble was formally charged yesterday in Sheboygan County Court. Authorities said police were called to St. Nicholas Hospital last Friday after the infant was brought in with a skull fracture. It was later determined the child also had broken ribs that were in the process of healing. Police said Kuble first denied causing the injuries but later tearfully admitted he had become frustrated when the infant wouldn’t sleep. He said he grabbed her with both hands around her chest and squeezed her than threw her onto a couch where she struck her head. Kuble is facing up to 15 years in prison, if convicted.

SHEBOYGAN, Wis.(WHBL) - A Sheboygan man is facing a charge of felony physical abuse of a child and his 7-week old daughter remains hospitalized at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. 32 year old George Kuble was formally charged yesterday in Sheboygan County Court. Authorities said police were called to St. Nicholas Hospital last Friday after the infant was brought in with a skull fracture. It was later determined the child also had broken ribs that were in the process of healing. Police said Kuble first denied causing the injuries but later tearfully admitted he had become frustrated when the infant wouldn’t sleep. He said he grabbed her with both hands around her chest and squeezed her than threw her onto a couch where she struck her head. Kuble is facing up to 15 years in prison, if convicted.

Father accused of critically injuring 5-week-old girl

As a newborn baby continued her fight to survive Tuesday, her father remained in the Fulton County jail accused of causing the injuries.
Gregory Odell Barnett, of Johns Creek, allegedly assaulted the baby after a fight with the child’s mother Jan. 12, according to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The baby’s mother, Courtney Johnson, said her boyfriend had been violent with her in the past, but she never thought he would harm their child.
“I still can’t believe it, somebody that he said he loved,” Johnson told The AJC by phone Tuesday night. “A week later, I’m still trying to process it.”
Johnson told police she and Barnett, her live-in boyfriend, turned violent after the two were arguing in their Johns Creek home. Johnson said she left the home for about 20 minutes, and when she returned, she found the baby lying face down on a pillow and crying, suffering from severe swelling to her head, according to police.
Johnson and Barnett drove the baby to Emory Johns Creek Hospital, where a nurse called 911 to report the suspected child abuse, according to the police report.
“The baby’s rear, left and right side of her head looked deformed due to the massive amount of swelling,” the report states.
The baby was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and Barnett was arrested.
Barnett has been charged with cruelty to children, three counts of aggravated assault and aggravated battery and was being held Tuesday night without bond, according to Fulton jail records.
Johnson said initially, she was unsure if her youngest daughter would survive. But Tuesday, the child took a major step in her recovery when doctors were able to remove her from a ventilator.
“She’s breathing on her own and being a rock star,” Johnson said. “I’m encouraged and she’s doing much better than she was a week ago.”
